Hong Leong Bank AirAsia Visa Credit Card Review

I am sure most of you would have received an email from AirAsia informing you of the just launched Hong Leong Bank newest credit card, i.e. AirAsia.

Moreover, I also have Platinum status with AirAsia which does not benefit me at all!!!

To me, AirAsia Big Points are useless to redeem a ticket in full. And I am going to show it to you once again. Below image is taken from one of my many tutorials on AirAsia:

AirAsia Big Loyalty Premium Flatbed KL Mel Summary

I am not going to waste my time analyzing the returns from the Hong Leong Bank AirAsia Visa credit card because to me 1 AA Big Point is only worth RM0.008, YES 1AA Big Point is worth less than 1 sen. You can click here to read my article on AirAsia Big Point and what you can do with them.

Having said the above, many of my disciples have been taught a method on how to utilize their AirAsia Big Points to save lots of money over and over again.

The thing that attracted me most about the card was the Priority Check In and Boarding.

However, I then read that there is an annual fee after the first year. That turned me off…. have to beg for annual fee waiver, hahaha.

And HLB advertised you can get 25K FREE AirAsia Big Point with the Platinum version; however, you need to spend RM17,000 with it!!! Better I use my AMEX Reserve and earn 18,888 Enrich Miles or KrisFlyer Miles or Asia Miles instead.

Seriously, AirAsia tickets are so damn freaking cheap during sale (for off peak flights), and you can even get RM0 tickets (excluding taxes) during AirAsia Promos!!! So if you are using AirAsia Big Points to redeem in full for flight tickets, you are losing out big time.

That’s it for my review….. I will take a miss on this card.
