FREE Qantas Points With Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Prepaid Cards, Qantas Shopping, QantasWellbeing, Qantas Wine, Qantas Restaurant, Woolworths Rewards, & Caltex Petrol To Fly First Class For FREE

FREE Qantas Points With Credit Cards

If you reside in Australia, you can easily earn yourself a FREE First Class ticket with Qantas Airways to Singapore or London or even Los Angeles.

The quickest way to fly Qantas First Class for almost free is with credit cards. I mentioned almost free is because most Australia credit cards impose annual fees. However, the annual fees are insignificant to the potential Qantas Points one can earn for FREE!!!

For example, Qantas Premier Platinum MasterCard has an annual fee of AUD199 (first year if sign up before 31st October 2019) BUT you can earn 120,000 Qantas Points in 6 months by spending AUD9K (AUD1.5K per month for 6 months).

Now, in addition to the above Bonus Qantas Points based on the monthly spending requirement, you are also entitled to the standard rewards from your credit card transactions.

Qantas Premier Platinum MasterCard Reward Program.jpg

Therefore, with the above standard reward for the Qantas Premier Platinum MasterCard and Bonus Qantas Points, one will have minimum 129K Qantas Points within 6 months if he/she spends AUD1.5K per month.

Qantas itself has many credit cards offering Bonus Qantas Points with spending conditions, e.g. Qantas Premier Everyday, Platinum and Titanium.

Then there are banks’ credit cards that also offer Bonus Qantas Miles based on spending within a specific period. E.g. Citibank Visa Signature where the First Year annual fee is waived BUT you need to pay AUD49 to be enrolled into Qantas Rewards program.

And Citibank is damn smart, you will only qualify for 100K Qantas Points if you spend AUD5K within 90 days. The balance 50K Qantas Points will only be awarded after the card anniversary, this means you need to pay the annual fee of AUD395 for the 50K Qantas Points!!!

St George also offers two Visa credit cards with Bonus Qantas Points if you spend AUD2K and AUD4K within 90 days with their Amplify Visa Platinum and Visa Signature respectively.

AMEX also offer Bonus Qantas Points including David Jones AMEX.

There are many other banks offering Bonus Points for signing up for their credit card, i.e. Westpac and ANZ.

Therefore, if one does spend about $1,500 per month, all one has to do is sign up for 3 of the above mentioned credit cards every few months and will end up with more than 200K Bonus Qantas Points!

Example: if one sign up for Citibank Visa Signature (150K Qantas Points after 1 year) and then 3 months later sign up for St George Visa Signature (90K Qantas Points) and then after 3 months sign up again for Qantas Premier Platinum MasterCard (120K Qantas Points) – after a year, the total FREE Bonus Qantas Points will add up to 360,000 Qantas Points!!! I have yet to included the Qantas Points earned from actual spending. Therefore, the total Qantas Points will be close to 380K!!!

So what can you do with 380K Qantas Points?

You can fly return First Class Melbourne to London!!!

Qantas Points First Class Melbourne to London A380.jpg

And a return First Class Melbourne to London on Qantas A380 is priced at $16K!

Or a return First Class ticket on Airbus A380 Melbourne to Singapore needs 180K Qantas Points. Therefore you can redeem Qantas First Class tickets for your partner and yourself.

Qantas Points First Class Melbourne Singapore.jpg

The price of Qantas First Class return Melbourne to Singapore is only AUD10K for 2 pax!

Based on the above, for 380K Qantas Points, you can either fly RETURN First Class Melbourne to London where the ticket is priced at AUD16K for one pax OR fly RETURN First Class Melbourne to Singapore 2 pax where the tickets total price is only AUD10K.

In respect to the above, to get more value out of your Qantas Points, it is better to fly to London!

Everyday Transaction Account and Debit Card To Earn You Qantas Points

Besides credit cards, you can also earn Qantas Points from Debit Cards such as Bankwest Transaction Account where you also earn Qantas Points for parking your money in the account instead of interest!

Qantas Bankwest Transaction Account Free Qantas Points

Assuming you maintain minimum $2000 every month, it means you will earn 240 Qantas Points or 2,880 Qantas Points per year.

Or let’s say you have $100K parked in this said Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account, then you can earn 144K Qantas Points per year versus about $2500 based on interest rates that you may earn from a Term Deposit Account as of September 2019.

However, I would like to point out that since the Qantas Transaction Account is linked to a Debit Card, IF someone cloned your Debit Card, then you will end up with a freaking huge headache!

Qantas Travel Money Prepaid MasterCard

This is a prepaid card where you can deposit money into it direct from your bank account online without any fees.

Basically you earn 1 Qantas Point for every $4 you spend with the card locally.

Qantas Restaurant To Earn You More Qantas Points

The Qantas Restaurant is fantastic as you earn free Qantas Points when you make a reservation with a restaurant. The best part is you will earn 100 Qantas Point per diner!

Therefore, do check out Qantas Restaurant before you make any reservations directly with the restaurant.

Four of the restaurants listed above where we can earn 100 Qantas Points per diner are listed in my post title The Best Restaurants in Melbourne (click here to read it)!

However, before you go and book with Qantas Restaurant, I would advise that you check with The Fork where you may be entitled to discount which you may not with Qantas Restaurant.

For example, if you refer to the image above, if you do make a reservation with Curry Vault with Qantas Restaurant via Quandoo, you will earn 100 Qantas Points per pax.

On the other hand, if you make the same reservation with Curry Vault via The Fork, you will be entitled to 30% discount of the total bill!

Woolworths Rewards To Earn You More Qantas Points
