For years I have been posting Chinese New Year Red Packets from many banks but since covid, things has changed; and one of them is I perform Online Banking more than visiting the banks’ branches and thus I have less interactions with the bank officers.

I don’t even know who is my assigned Relationship Manager for RHB and Alliance. So for RHB Bank I went to see the Branch Manager personally to request for their Premier Banking Ang Pow and RHB was so kedekut that the Branch Manager only gave me a box (there are 10 red packets inside) as she had limited stock to distribute. Alliance Bank on the other hand, I just went to the Privilege Banking Room and spoke to the Cashier and she gave me a handful of their red packets. My pretty UOB RM was so nice to personally hand over to me a bag which had UOB Privilege Banking Ang Pows and a container full of cookies.

Both the Alliance Bank Privilege Banking and general banking ang pows have identical dragon design BUT the Privilege Banking Ang Pow has way better quality paper. And if you look carefully, the Chinese Characters are different too.

The RHB Premier Banking Ang Pow design is different from the general banking but it is still fish! But then again, if you play Pokemon…… the fish will transform to a dragon, hahaha.

UOB Bank Red Packets

Please refer to the photo below: on the left is the Privilege Banking red packets and on the right the general banking. I must say the UOB general banking red packet paper quality is pretty good.

Eureka Popcorn Red Packets

The half dragon does look like the classic scary dragon…. look at fierce eye the fang; BUT you need lots of them as there is only 1 red colour packet in each set!

SEIBU Ang Pow

Seibu is the latest high end departmental store in KL. No dragon, birds or fish…. good for general use.
