FREE AirAsia Reward Points – How I Earned Them And How I Used Them.

Daily FREE AirAsia Points With Move App

If you are a long time follower of mine, you would know that we can earn FREE Air Asia Points daily with Biggie Wonderland.

For the benefit of those of you who do not know how to earn FREE AirAsia Points (used to be called BIG Points), below are the steps:

STEP 1 – Open the MOVE App and tap on REWARDS on the upper left of the screen.

STEP 2 – Tap on FUN and the bottom menu.

STEP 3 – You will then be directed to Biggie Wonderland

STEP 4 – Play the games

Super Shake – just tap play and you do not need to do anything and you will earn 2 AA Points.

Super Explorer – just tap and let the video run and you will earn 10 AA Points. You can play the video twice per day which means you can earn 20 AA Points Daily.

Super Catcher – you can earn minimum 2 AA Points per day and even more than 10 AA Points a day.

So assuming you can earn minimum AA 24 Points a day x 30 days/month = 720 AA Points per month.

From my years of wasting time on the Biggie Wonderland, generally I can use the AA Points to offset about RM30 for a one-way flight ticket to Singapore. If you are my long time follower, you will know that I go to Singapore for my eyes issue where I mentioned before the reason was because a so called renown glaucoma specialist in KL insisted that I undergo an operation on my eyes which I refused. So I buta-buta called a hospital in Singapore and was referred to a gorgeous doctor in Singapore… and all the gorgeous doctor did was change the eye drops and the pressure in my eyes dropped – that was more than 10 years ago and up to today I am still using the same eye drops prescribed by the gorgeous Singapore Doctor and every 6 months I have to go to Singapore for a check up. Actually, at one point prior ro covid, the pressure in my eyes actually dropped less than what it was 10 years ago which surprised my doctor….. well the secret is because of the exercises I performed regularly from my Project Health which benefits me physically and mentally.

What is the point of the above story, well it is definitely not about the RM30 FREE Money I get to offset with the AA Points for my flight ticket BUT to tell you all that you must always have a second and even third opinion when a doctor tells you this or that! A doctor is only as good as his experience/training and today because many of us have Medical Insurance, many doctors (not all but many) will tell you that you need this or that operation because they know money is not an issue!

So many of my long time followers know that I have glaucoma and will seek my opinion. Recently two of my followers told me of their experience with so called eye specialists:

Story No.1 – a young lady had a red eye (infection), so she visited an eye doctor and the eye doctor took her eye pressure and the next thing the doctor told her that she will be blind because the pressure in her eyes are high! And of course the young lady was in shock and started crying. Who is not worried that they will go blind. But to me this doctor is an A$$hol3 because to me all she was after was money and not the patient’s well-being (the patient was in stress!!!). And what I mean by after money, the patient will then have to go for follow up checks with her and if there is no improvement, the doctor will tell the patient to have surgery!

Story No.2 – a follower’s mum also had an eye issue and visited an eye doctor. Same thing, the a$$hol# doctor concluded that his mum will go blind as the pressure in her eyes are above normal. Imagine the trauma the old lady had to go through!

When both of them contacted me and told me that the so called eye specialist informed that the Sis and the Bro’s mother will be blind…. the first thing I told them was the doctor was an A$$hol3 because they made their patients experience trauma and anxiety without concrete evidence!

You see, without doing further tests, both the so called eye specialists assumed that both the ladies will go blind which is not necessarily the case. Some people have high pressure readings in their eyes because of thicker cornea. So first thing is to identify if the person who has “higher” than normal eye pressure has a thicker cornea.

And the most important thing the eye specialist should do is to instruct a vision test which will then determine how bad is the damage to the optic nerve (if any). You see, if the person’s vision is fine there is no reason to ask the patient to put eye drop(s) even if the pressure in their eyes are above normal!

All medication has side-effects and that include eye drops. I tell you, you will be shocked to learn the side-effects from the eye drops if you take the time and read the freaking small pamphlet that comes with the eye drops. And some of the side-effects can even include affecting our mental state. No kidding, go read the small print in the pamphlet.

Actually, you can just google and educate your self on any type of medication out there and the side effects. I tell you, all medications have side effects including eye drops which can affect you physically and/or mentally!

So both the ladies above took my advice and performed a vision field test and the results were excellent. In the Bro’s mother’s case, she has a few spots where she could not see BUT based on her age one cannot expect to have 2020 vision right!

So coming back to my Singapore Doctor, I brought my eldest son to see her more than 10 years ago and his eyes’ pressure were above the normal range BUT my Singapore doctor told us that because my son’s vision was perfect (based on the vision field test), she said it is not recommended that my son put eye drops to reduce the pressure. BECAUSE as I mentioned, there are side-effects from the eye drops and once you start putting eye drops, it is for life. Instead she told my son to monitor his vision by performing the vision field test periodically. Today my eldest son is a doctor and up to date his vision is still perfect.

Point of the story above, always get a second or even third opinion and if you have my contact number, you can always call me when a doctor traumatizes you.

AA Big Points From My Premium Flatbed KL to Melbourne

In my article GenX’s Live Travel Report With AirAsia Premium Flatbed on Ex-Philippine Airlines A330-300 KL to Melbourne Plus FREE Access to Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA2 (click here to read it if you have not), at the end of the report, I told you I was surprised to know that my wife has 7878 AirAsia Points despite me not playing the Biggie Wonderland with her iPhone.

But actually, both my wife and I only earned 3822 AirAsia Big Points each from the Premium Flatbed tickets KL to Melbourne which cost me RM2399 per pax.

Using AirAsia Big Points To Offset Cost of Air Ticket

I am scheduled to have a date with my gorgeous Singapore Eye Doctor next month. So I used my wife’s account (at her Move App in her iPhone) to book the ticket which cost only RM99 one-way KL to SG. Freaking cheap right, RM99 to fly from KL to Singapore, the GRAB ride from my home to KLIA2 will cost me about RM70 after including Toll!!!

Anyway, there were 8090 AA Points in my wife’s account which I can then use to offset the ticket price by RM80.90. So effectively I only paid RM18.10 (RM99 – RM 80.90) for the one-way ticket KL to Singapore!

For my return flight SG to KL, I had to chose the currency of that country I am departing from in order to use the AA Points.

The ticket price SG to KL was SGD77

So I had 6455 AA Points which can be converted to SGD18.07; therefore I paid SGD58.93 for the one way ticket SG to KL.

What Is The Value of 1 AA Point or Returns?

Above questions are 2 separate issues.

I will first start of with the value of 1 AA Points.

From the above example, for the flight ticket where I used 8090 AA Points, I was then able to offset the price of the one-way KL to Singapore by RM80.90, it means 1 AA Point is worth 1 sen!!!

So now that we have determined the value of 1 AA Point = 1 sen, we can then work out the returns.

Case 1 – Returns I got in % from my AA Premium Flatbed

I earned 3822 AA Points from the Premium Flatbed ticket KL to Melbourne where I paid RM2399. This means the returns I got was 1.59% (RM38.22/RM2399 x 100%). 1.59% is actually not too bad considering I would have also earn something from the credit card I used to pay for the tickets.

Case 2 – Returns from Alliance Bank Credit Cards

If you are my die hard long time follower, I bet you are holding a Alliance Bank credit card as it was once warded by yours truly the title of The Best Enrich Points Credit Cards in Malaysia because we could convert 6000 TBP = 1000 Enrich Points. But with Alliance Bank Inflating their rewards program, the Alliance Bank Credit Cards may not be the best anymore.

So from the above, we need 6000 TBP = 1000 AA Points versus 15K TBP = 1K Enrich Points.

So assuming you can get 8X TBP with every RM1 spent, you will need to spend:

  1. Spend RM750 with an Alliance Bank Credit Card with 8X TBP to earn 1K AA Points (which will give you RM10 value when you use the AA Points to offset the AA air ticket price). This means you are getting RM10/RM750 x 100% = 1.33%
  2. Spend RM1,875 with an Alliance Bank Credit Card with 8X TBP to earn 1K Enrich Points. If you are a follower of mine, you will know that 1 Enrich Point can be worth at least RM0.03 when we use it for Hotel Stays – click here to learn more at my YouTube Channel. So assuming 1K Enrich Points = RM30, then the returns we get = RM30/RM1875 x100% = 1.6%

So from the above, even with Alliance Bank inflating the conversion rate of TBP to Enrich Points, as of date (June 2024), it is still better to convert our Alliance Bank Timeless Bonus Points to Enrich where we can get more than 1.6% returns when we use the Enrich Points to redeem a Biz Class ticket to London or Australia.

Anyway, coming back to AirAsia, we can use the Maybank 2 Cards Gold/Platinum AMEX on weekend to purchase tickets and earn 5% cash back 🙂

As for me playing Biggie Wonderland daily, it does not make my life any better BUT it definitely gives me “shiok sendiri” sensations where I tell myself I am blessed to earn FREE AirAsia Big Points to offset the ticket price for my periodic eyes check in Singapore…………………….
