Malaysia Is Ranked No.64 In 2025 World Happiness Report

Today I saw an article in The Star titled World Happiness Report: Like income, Malaysia stuck in middle (click here to re it).

Below is part of what was mentioned in the above said article:

Among Asean nations, Malaysia was in the middle of the pack, behind Singapore that led at 34th place, Vietnam (46th), Thailand (49th), and the Philippines at 57th, but ahead of Indonesia in 83rd.

So I googled 2025 World Happiness Report…. click here for the link I found to see the complete ranking table and analysis.

It was no surprise that Finland remained the Happiest Country on planet earth BUT I was surprised that Israel and Mexico were in the Top 10! Malaysia is ranked No.64 beating China at No.68. Well if you ask me, China number is freaking nice 6 -8 (say it in Cantonese), haha.

Singapore is ranked No.34 Happiest Country compared to Malaysia No.64. Initially I was like how can that be until it hit me Singapore is 3 -4 (read in Cantonese) which makes a lot of sense, hahahaha.

Another interesting number was – when it comes to Perception Of Corruption, it was Not Applicable for China!!!

On the other hand Malaysia’s score for Perception of Corruption and Negative Emotions were 72 and 54 respectively which is not very good as it is more than 50!

In respect to the above, I guess with all the local media reporting MACC this and that plus negative news, who can blame we Malaysians for having not so good perception on corruption and negative emotions – it is all the media’s fault, hahaha.

Now I tell you, the World Happiness Report is of no significant! Why? Because when I googled Countries Suicide Rate, I found Wikipedia had a table for Suicide rates by gender and country, age-standardized, per 100K population, World Health Organization, 2019 (click here, as of March 2025 it was not updated and still reflected statistic from 2019).

Malaysia was ranked outside the Top 100 Suicide Rate (to be exact 130) which was better than Finland ay No. 38, Singapore No.76. So how can that be that people in Finland or Singapore are happier than people in Malaysia?

I tell you, each and everyone of us on planet earth create our own story, i.e. happiness or sadness, we have choices – just like in the movie Matrix, you can choose to take the blue or red pill.

Life is very simple, all we need is to eat, shit and sleep….. and in Malaysia which is the land of opportunities where one who is willing to work is sure to have enough food to eat, place to shit and sleep. Even if one is not able to work in Malaysia, there are many charities offering FREE food.

The government of Malaysia provides almost FREE education up to Form Six and university tuition fees are also affordable (you wanting to send your child to a Private School for whatever reason is your choice). Actually Malaysia National Education to me is as good as any county on planet earth, My parents were graduates from University of Malaya. My wife and I went to Sekolah Kebangsaan (FREE education) and then were accepted to a USA University based on our SPM results. My 2 older children sat for SPM – eldest son is now a doctor (graduated from a Top 50 Med School in the World) and my older daughter graduated from a World Top 5 University for Pharmacy (she was actually even accepted to a PhD Pharmacy Program in USA based on her SPM).

The Malaysia Government also provides almost FREE Medical and general Dental treatment (you wanting to go to a Private Hospital or Clinic is your choice).

I have lived in USA for about 5+ years (while pursuing my Bachelor and Master degrees) and Australia on and off in the last decade and I can tell you that Malaysia is the best! There is no winter in Malaysia (I hate winter) and no natural disaster (earthquake, hurricane, cyclone, volcano, tornado, winter snow storm and etc).

But the main reason why I said Malaysia is the best is because I have income in MYR (e.g. EPF), and because my income is in MYR, everything is damn expensive in Australia!

In respect to the above, the truth is anywhere on earth is the best place as long as we are in a safe environment (no war, no crime and no natural disaster) and have income or savings enough for food, a place to sleep and a place to shit.

There are people suffering all over the world regardless if one lives in Finland (as you can see from above suicide rate) or Malaysia.

No one can be in a constant happy state unless he/she has some mental issue (which is good if you think of it – if the person has no worries) BUT one can be at constant Inner Peace with the right mind set and of course programming from the past.

The good news is – if you are reading this, it means you are educated which also means you are blessed compared to billions of people in the world!

Click here to read my article titled Secret To Eternal Happiness

The above said article covers many subjects and one of them is that all of you are or will be in the Top 10% richest people on planet earth where one only needs assets (net worth after deducting debts) of USD77K. If you own a house or apartment in Malaysia, you are already in the Top 10% richest people on earth! Therefore there is no reason as to why you are unhappy but instead you should feel blessed and grateful for the opportunities to experience the wonders of life in a save and peaceful country like Malaysia. And if you do not feel blessed, then I guess you are contributing to the Statistic of Negative Emotions stated in the 2025 World Happiness Ranking (I guess you chose the wrong color pill but it is never too late to choose the other color and reset your mind set), haha.

Seriously, if you have financial stress, most probably is your own doing where you have spent beyond your means on material stuff and in debt. Like I mentioned in my article LIFE (click here to read it), the goal in life is to be debt free.

I guess I should also add – you should not be greedy. If you are not greedy for easy money (including FREE stuff from so called contest or lottery) you won’t be scammed! Only invest with a company/institution approved by BNM and/or Secirities Commission Malaysia. If you want to invest in Cryptocurrencies, all you need is google – “Approved Cryptocurrencies By BNM” and you will see below link to Securities Commission Malaysia.

So if the company name is not mentioned in the list by Securities Commission Malaysia, do not even think of depositing money to purchase/invest in cryptocurrencies…. else you and only you deserved to be blamed for being greedy! Of course never click on any links at any social media (e.g. Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and etc).

Another thing, to protect your personal data, NEVER EVER state your real name at WhatsApp because scammers then will know your real name and mobile number from Chat Groups. What you need to do is just go to Settings at your WhatsApp and Tap your name and Edit it. Once you do this, no one will know your real name UNLESS they have saved your name (whatever name) in their Contacts.
