Children Education Path 2025

Many years ago, a family friend mentioned in Hokkien that “Kia Beh Tak Check Tau Kak Tiah, Kia Ae Tak Chek Pun Tau Kak Thiah” (which translate to Child Cannot Study Headache. Child Can Study Also Headache). It hit me there and then that what he said was so freaking true.

Anyway today I was browsing the internet and came across this article in The Star – Chinese nuclear giant’s recruitment boast sparks backlash from young jobseekers

In the above said article in mentioned the followings:

Nearly 1.2 million Chinese university students have applied for 8,000 positions at China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC)

A record 12.22 million students are expected to graduate from universities and colleges this summer.

Finding suitable employment remains a challenge for many young people in China amid economic headwinds, including an intensifying trade war with the United States.

WOW! 12.22 million students are graduating from Chinese Universities this year! And 1.2m application for 8000 openings!

Well, I guess the 12.22m students and parents are having a headache now that’s for sure.

So I googled about Malaysia and there are about 1M students in Malaysia Universities and about 60K students overseas.

From this article – Number of University Students in Malaysia: A 2025 Overview, it stated that – As of 2025, the total number of university students in Malaysia is estimated to be over 1 million.

Below are parts from the above said article:

Public vs. Private Universities:

  • Public Universities: Approximately 681,000 students are enrolled.
  • Private Universities: Private institutions, including universities and colleges, have around 420,000 students enrolled.

International Students: Malaysia has over 130,000 international students, with visions to increase the number to 250,000 by 2025.

In respect to above contents, it means that about 290K Malaysians are in Private Universities which makes sense as nowadays most Middles Class can’t afford to send their children overseas because of our weak Ringgit plus the high cost of living AND most parents not saving and planning for their children education but chasing after shiok sendiri sensations like eating at Air-Conditioned restaurants instead of hawker stalls, not wanting to drive a Perodua Kancil/Axia but instead a Toyota or BMW with more than 5 years loan, going overseas holidays with so called cheap AA tickets, holding the lastest hand-phone than cost more than RM3K and etc.

In respect to the above, that is why nowadays also many young adults do not want children but spending away whatever they earn on themselves to enjoy life!

It is a fact that you my readers know that the ability to communicate in English is essential for a Salaryman in the Private Sector. Why? You must be able to read documents, prepare documents, read and understand Contracts and etc if you want to climb up the corporate ladder. And below is a research on the subject of Local Public Universities versus Local Foreign Universities (like Monash, Nottingham and etc) versus Overseas Universities graduates.

ARE FOREIGN TRAINED GRADUATES BETTER THAN LOCALS?

You go click on the above link and read the research paper. I will just post the Conclusion below:

Foreign graduates seem to rank higher in the two generic competencies much sought after by employers due to their communication skills (verbal and written) and confidence/positive self-image. Hence, this confirms the grave concerns of employers with regard to the fact that local graduates are seriously lacking in both oral and written communication skills in English language.

Whilst this study has attempted to empirically prove whether employers’ do indeed prefer foreign graduates to local graduates,……….

Well, I personally do not know any person who graduated from overseas who can’t find a job if they are willing to work.

But then again, there are only about 60K students overseas compared to close to 1M in local universities….. and I guess that is why the percentage of overseas students being employed is higher. Moreover, those who go overseas to study have the right degree that the market wants – stupid to go overseas and waste money of a degree that won’t guarantee you employment right?

Click here to Department of Statistic Malaysia Media Statement on 24th December 2024 – Graduates Statistics

I am shocked to see that the Median Salary of Graduates (not Fresh Graduates) is less than RM5K per month! RM5K is like close to USD1.2K a month!

Below is a chart in the above said Media Statement:

Well the above chart shows that is better than South Korea and Indonesia but Brunei is better than Malaysia and if not mistaken Brunei offer FREE overseas education for their citizens who qualify. Now my question is why is Singapore not in the chart?

Because the salary of graduates are damn freaking low in Malaysia compared to those in Singapore paid in Singapore Dollars, many Malaysians work in Singapore! Long ago there was an article in the news that said a Malaysia Graduate works as a rubbish collector in Singapore and earns more than RM10K per month!

Click here and read this very recent report – Malaysia’s brain drain deepens as 1 in 6 state-funded scholars opts to work abroad

Well those who are sent overseas by our government of course are intelligent people and as such it is not surprising that they opts to work overseas and earn big bucks!

As I have been saying for year, get an overseas degree so it is recognised worldwide and this allows you to work anywhere on planet earth! Well, then again, today it cost a fortune to study overseas and that is why it makes sense to go to Monash Malaysia and get a degree that is recognized worldwide where you can work in SG!

I have shared before, the Johor Causeway is the busiest border crossing in the world!

And that does not include the thousands of Malaysians working in SG. Many of my followers are working in SG to earn big bucks.
