Option 2 – Upgrade Using Skywards AND Pay Less Than RM4K for KL to Europe

As I showed you previously, with Classic Rewards, we need 120K Skywards Miles and need to pay about RM4K (it fluctuates depending on the exchange rate USD versus MYR)

So the cheapest method to fly Biz Class with Emirates is to purchase an Economy Class ticket and utilise their Upgrade Promo!

Step 1 – Enter the departure and arrival cities plus the date and chose Economy.

Step 2 – Look for Upgrade Promo LOGO

Step 3 – Click on Upgrade Offer

Step 4 – and you will see that you only need less than 60K Skywards Miles for a Biz Class ticket KL to Europe versus 120K Skywards with Classic Rewards!!! And you also pay about half of what you need to pay with Classic Rewards!

However, please note that if you have signed up for My Family and/or Skysurfers account(s), you are not eligible for this upgrade offer. SO NEVER SIGN UP FOR MY FAMILY ACCOUNT!!!

Upgrade from Biz Class to First Class

Like I mentioned previously, we Skywards Blue Tier Membership can no longer redeem for First Class with Classic Rewards but we still can upgrade. All you need to do is search under Biz Class and just like the Economy to Biz Class above, look for the Upgrade Promo LOGO.

However, for kedekut people like me where I need to pay close or more than RM10K for a flight ticket is a big no no, hahaha.

Option 3 – Upgrade Biz redeemed via Classic Rewards to First Class

We can also upgrade to First Class from Business Class which we have redeemed via Classic Rewards BUT you will end up needing in total more than 200K Skywards Miles KL to Europe!!!

Once you have redeemed a Business Class via Classic Rewards, you may get an offer to upgrade to First Class. For example you have redeemed a Classic Reward Biz Class ticket KL to Paris and you may be offered to upgrade KL to Dubai or Dubai to Paris or both but each leg you will need more than 40K Skywards Miles.

However the above said option does give you the opportunity to experience Emirates Fist Class even if it was only for one leg.
