Below is an image of a Canadian Maple Leaf 1oz gold coin which we could buy for less than RM2K at UOB Bank prior to year 2005. Today, the same 1oz Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin is being sold by UOB at RM15,751 (as of 8am 16th September 2025).

But because gold per oz started to cost more than RM2K starting from 2006, many then started to buy gold in grams, i.e. at first 10 grams then 5 grams and today we can purchase 1g gold wafer at goldsmiths, haha.
