SCAMS In Malaysia – Never Believe Anything That Is Shared Or Posted In The Internet

Those of you who have been following me for years know that I have reiterated over and over again that you must not believe anything you read (now watch videos too) on the internet.

I have warned all over and over again that Facebook and other social medias including Telegram and WhatsApp are full of scams.

In respect to the above, read again RM432M at Facebook!

NEVER EVER CLICK on anything link at Facebook. Previously I have also showed many scammers impersonate genuine companies (e.g. McD and Singapore Airlines), therefore never click on any link and never be lazy but key in the actual official website address to check if the deal is real.

We often hear of people being scammed in the media and most of them are elderly people, which is a fact.

But it not only old people but also many younger people are scammed too.

Below is Breakdown of Instagram influencers’ involved in fraud in Malaysia in 2020

And Tik Tok is now the main avenue for scammers:

As for scams involving “investment” – I tell you the victims are to be blamed as they were greedy for easy and quick money. IF ANYONE TELLS YOU THAT YOU CAN GET MORE THAN BANK INTEREST RATE from your investment in his/her product you better go educate yourself!

In respect to the above, the first thing you should do is check if the company is approved? And you can simply do so by visiting Security Commission of Malaysia’s Investment Checker:

You can also check with BNM. For example, you should check which if companies in Malaysia are approved to invest in cryptocurrencies and topping up eWallet!!!

If the company is not listed in BNM Website or shown in Security Commission of Malaysia’s Investment Checker YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM IT! Even if you made money from an illegal investment (i.e. not approved by the Malaysian Authorities), the money is toxic!!!

Today many young people are not into 9 to 5 jobs but many rather become unemployed and become influences! And in order for them, the influences, to get money, they rely on sponsors. Now how many of the influences actually check if their sponsors are genuine or scammers (besides the influences being potential scammers) ….. I can tell you this, if a product is selling so damn good they don’t need any influences (celebrity yes but not social media influences).

Below are some cases involving influences recently:

So if you do not want to be scammed:

  1. Do not be greedy – like I reiterated over and over again, if you are greedy you will be punished by the universe.
  2. Never believe anything you read in the internet. Most website/influencer get their income by promoting products and therefore they will be biased.
  3. The only website you can believe is http://www.GenXGenYGenZ.com because that stupid blogger promotes and teaches stuff for free and he doesn’t get a sen from any sponsor and therefore his comments/recommendation are unbiased and he tells you just like it is.
  4. DO NOT EVER give money to anyone who you never met face to face (love scames common). If any of your “Friend” ask you for money over WhatsApp or Telegram or FB, if you want to help him/her, ask the person to meet you face to face and you give him/her the money personally and not electronically. Today it is very easy to impersonate someone…. if you are in a WhatAspp Group and you posted your photo, anyone can then copy your photo and create a new account!!! Never post your photo at any social media.
  5. And if you want to invest in anything – (1) check with BNM if the company is approved to accept deposits; (2) check with SC of Malaysia Investment Checker and (3) make sure the company has a office and visit the office and visit the agent inside the office (once again that is after you checked item 1 and 2). If you make investment with a company who only operates online, be prepared to lose all your money with that company as the company can disappear overnight (for whatever reasons).
  6. Even if the company has an office, they will have agents selling their investment products – when there will be agents (influencers, Premier/Privilege/Wealth Banking Relationship Managers, Insurance Agents selling any other products besides Medical Insurance and etc) it means the agent interest is not yours but theirs alone so that they earn commission! If you rely on someone else telling what you should invest in, it means you know nuts about investment as you are to damn lazy to educate yourself….. so I tell you either invest in FD or self-contribute to EPF or purchase a FREE Hold Landed House where there is demand or even gold where the possibility of you losing money is almost nil in the long run (because of inflation properties and gold will increase with time).
  7. Get an iPhone (and even Mac) for your Mobile Banking and Cloud storage….. this is super important if you do not want to be hacked.
  8. If you buy anything of value, best you go to the shop especially luxury goods. There are fakes everywhere! If you ask me, never buy second hand stuff because you may be scammed or the item may be stolen! Moreover second hand stuff means the previous owner got no luck and needed money so why you want to inherit the other person’s bad luck?
  9. Last but not least, never ever post photos of your child on social media, with AI people can do wonders and don’t be surprise suddenly your child becomes (with AI they can age anyone to be seen like an adult) a porn star!
