Hennessy Limited Edition Master Blender’s Selection Nº3. A hand-selected single-batch Cognac, it is a one-of-a-kind limited offering.

If you are a follower of mine, you will know I love cognac and have been collecting both cognac and whisky for years.

Below is one of the many photos of my spirit collection in Melbourne.

I have been telling myself that I should stop buying cognacs or whiskies because:

1. I have run out of space to store any new bottle of cognac or whisky either in Melbourne or KL.

2. I won’t be able to finish my current collection. So I better start opening the bottles and enjoy them. I have come to the conclusion that it is damn stupid not to open my collection of spirits and enjoy them instead of it being inherited by someone else where others get to enjoy my spirits and not saying thank you to me! Hahaha.

Anyway, I am back in Melbourne and therefore I visited Dan Murphy’s today just to waste time and was not intending to purchase any new bottle.

However, I saw a Limited Edition Hennessy and it was stated on the bottle that is was one of a kind!!! Therefore, I got itchy and bought one.

From the above photo, it can be observed that my Limited Edition Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 was bottled in 2018 Batch No.3 with Serial Number 23995.

How about the price of the Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 versus Hennessy VSOP.

Well Dan Murphy’s is selling the 700ml Hennesyy VSOP for AUD90 versus the Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 500ml bottle at AUD105.

On the surface, the difference in price does not seem significant, i.e. AUD15. However, because the Master Blender’s Selection No.3 is a 500ml bottle, this means it is far more expensive than the standard 700ml VSOP. Based on theses said prices, an equivalent bottle of 1000ml Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 will cost about MYR600 which is close to double the rpice of the 1L Hennessy VSOP sold at Eraman Duty Free after discount.

Hennessy VSOP price versus Master Blender Limited edition

All my followers know I  love cognac and my favorite is the Hennessy XO where Dan Murphy’s is selling the 700ml bottle for AUD259. So how about the taste of the Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 compare to Hennessy XO?

I just opened my new bottle of the Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 to try it out.

CONCLUSION

Hennessy Master Blenders No.3 2018 Limited Edition Year and Serial Number taste

First I tried the Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 neat. Then on the rocks.

IMHO, the Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No.3 is nothing great and a waste of money. The cheaper Hennessy VSOP Privileged taste better anytime! On yes, it is truly one of a kind lousy cognac for the price I paid!

Well, I guess I got conned again by another marketing gimmick where they used fancy words to entice me, hahaha.
