Conclusion
It is no longer worthwhile to hold a credit card that earns you Reward Points UNLESS you are into Air Miles, and that also only for selected credit cards.
Nowadays, with 5X Reward Points for every RM1 spent, we only can effectively earn about 1% return or less when we redeem for cash vouchers, as shown to you in the previous example.
If you are into Reward Points, then you should be holding the Maybank 2 Cards Premier and earn 1 KrisFlyer Mile or Asia Mile for every RM1 spent with the AMEX Reserve.
And if you are into Enrich Miles, in addition to the Maybank 2 Cards Premier, you should be holding the Alliance Visa Infinite or Platinum for online transactions.
Having said the above, if you want to earn FREE money, then the CIMB e Credit Card that earns you 10X Bonus Points for topping up eWallets is freaking good. I have shown you in my YouTube Tutorial that you can convert 40,000 CIMB Bonus Points to Cash. Only a fool will use 42,000 CIMB Bonus Points to redeem for the TnG eWallet Reload PIN, haha.
If you are holding the CIMB e Credit Card, you should convert the Bonus Points to offset your credit card bill. And for your TnG eWallet, you should use the CIMB e Credit Card to top up on the 10th of very month to earn more FREE money! Get it?
