Made In Japan
Like I mentioned in the previous page, God did not want me to get the Seiko 5 GMT from Seiko Malaysia Official Dealers, i.e. no stock at Seiko Boutique and when I wanted to get it from a specific watch dealer at Lazada it disappeared!
So since I have nothing better to do except surf the internet most of the time, I saw a Made In Japan Seiko 5 GMT!!!
As you can see, the Seiko 5 GMT model number is SBSC003 in Japan and retailing for JPY52800 which is equivalent to about RM1.8K.
What! A Made in Japan Seiko 5 GMT is cheaper than a Made In China Seiko sold in Malaysia??? I tell you, if you want to get a Seiko 5, it is better you go to Japan to get one!

There are many online watch dealers in Japan, however I was hesitant to order from them as I have never ordered anything online from Japan and was unsure of the clearance/custom procedures.
Then I saw the Seiko 5 GMT Blue Dial was available at Amazon and it had the Made In Japan imprinted on the dial. However, the model was SSK003 and not SBSC003.
I asked my older daughter if she has an Amazon account and she said yes. So I instructed her to order the Seiko 5 GMT SSK003 at Amazon USA for me. After taxes and shipping cost, the watch cost me only RM1900 after conversion with my Maybank Visa Infinite. Wow! With the shipping cost and taxes (included at check out), I still ended paying less than the official retail price of RM2,155!!! The reason why I got it so “cheap” was because I was blessed as the seller was selling it for 25% discount 🙂
FYI, so happened after I purchased the watch mentioned above, a long time die hard follower messaged me about the Seiko 5 GMT and I shared with him my purchase at Amazon. He then immediately ordered the same Seiko 5 GMT Made In Japan, however since he could not find anyone offering any discount, he happily paid full retail price of USD425 (excluding shipping and taxes). Seriously, even with taxes and shipping, the price of the Seiko 5 GMT Made In Japan will cost only slightly higher than the retail price of Seiko 5 GMT in Malaysia which is not made in Japan!
