NEW Additional Clauses:
The collective total Air Miles conversion, from TreatsPoints or Membership Rewards Points by Maybank to any airlines’ Frequent Flyer Programme(s), is capped at 100,000,000 Air Miles per calendar month regardless of the airline.
This limit for all Maybank Cards will be refreshed on the 1st day of every calendar month. Maybank Cardmembers’ conversion of TreatsPoints or Membership Rewards Points to Air Miles will therefore be subject to the collective monthly conversion limit (of 100,000,000 Air Miles), on a first-come-first-served basis.
Now, the above clauses does affect everyone of us who hold a Maybank Credit Card that earns us air miles!
Firstly, Maybank now limits the total redemption of air miles to 100,000,000 per month!
Case 1 – How many people can redeem per month if each of them redeem 100K air miles?
Answer: 1000 persons per month only!!!
Case 2 – How many people can redeem per month if each of them redeem 10K air miles?
Answer: 10,000 persons per month only!!!
Case 3 – Assuming that 1000 people redeemed 30K Enrich Points per pax in order to fly to London on Economy and another 1000 people redeemed 56,700 KrisFlyer Miles to fly Biz Class to Europe with Spontaneous Escapes; how many people can redeem 100K KrisFlyer Miles in order to redeem First Class with Singapore Airlines to Australia?
Answer: Only 133 blessed people will have the opportunity to redeem 100K KrisFlyer Miles, haha.
Case 4 – YOU. It is 20th of the month and you saw a First Class ticket with Singapore Airlines to London on A380 Saver Option. Wow this is like a miracle BUT you are short of 1000 KrisFlyer Miles. So you call Maybank CS to redeem the miserable 1000 KF and then you are told that quota habis, i,e, 100M air miles fully redeemed for that month, hahaha.
Do you know how many credit cardholders Maybank has?

From the above link, you will know that – “Group Chief Executive Officer CFS Datuk Lim Hong Tat said there were about two million Maybank credit card holders in Malaysia”.
Bros & Sis, Maybank has 2 million credit card holders! So this new clause may be of concern especially in the early stage because (1) many people still has yet to convert their Treats Points and (2) Treats Points has a validity period of 3 years. However I reckon in 3 years time this clause will not be that important because many would have terminated their Maybank 2 Cards Premier considering the fact that the AMEX Reserve now only earns us 2X TP for Local spending, hahahaha.
