My Youngest Daughter Bought Her Mum An Iconic Chanel White & Black Camellia Crush Mary Janes Shoes And About Life

This is another long winded top notch quality article on Life for my die hard long time followers who are penyibuks and thus will learn a thing or two as usual.

If you are my long time die hard follower, you will know that I will buy handbags for my wife once in a while especially if we are on holiday. And I have told you the reason why – so that every time she uses the handbag, it will bring back memories of our trip and I do earn FREE air miles from the purchases PLUS equally important is that we get tax rebate when overseas and thus save some money, hahaha.

FYI, we can get some good deals for Bottega, Gucci and Prada at Outlet Malls when we are in Europe. For example, end of 2023, we were in Sicily Island Outlet Mall and I bought my wife a Gucci Iconic Dionysus in leather for close to 50% off the price at Gucci Boutique The Gardens KL.

Click here to read my article titled Gucci Outlet Mall – My Wife Is Happy And Less Damage To My Pocket, and you are sure to learn a thing or two – just open your mouth and ask the price and you may be pleasantly surprised that you are getting a freaking good deal. Sometimes, at the Outlet Malls, there are further discounts on top of the already cheaper price compared to boutiques.

However, before you buy a bag at the Outlet Mall, especially Prada leather handbags, do check carefully for defects and make sure you do not regret later.

If you are in the USA, then you must buy Coach bags (including men’s too) and Ralph Lauren shirts. We do not get tax rebate when we depart USA but the Coach and Ralph Lauren are freaking cheap at USA Outlet Malls.

While I was in Amsterdam back in April 2023, my wife also bought a YSL Clutch for herself and I bought a Prada Re-Edition Nylon Shoulder Bag for my youngest daughter; and I can confirm that both are cheaper than in KL.

As for Chanel, it is a different story, as long as I can secure a Chanel “Classic” Bag in Black Caviar, I will just get it without comparing prices elsewhere. For example, last February 2024, it was my last night in Brisbane and we visited the Chanel Boutique and they had a Classic Wallet On Chain in Black Caviar with Gold Hardware, I did not think twice but bought it for my daughter in-law because my wife already has the Classic Wallet On Chain in Black Caviar too plus many other Chanel Black Caviar bags. FYI, I did not claim tax rebate but gave the Chanel Wallet on Chain straight to my daughter-n-law who works as a doctor in Australia. The thing is, Chanel keeps increasing the prices of their bags and soon it will come to a point where many will switch to other brands, either cheaper or more exclusive brands. Chanel will end up being neither here nor there, hahaha.

Below is the Classic Wallet On Chain I bought in February 2024 in Brisbane and paid close to RM18K (which was more expensive than in KL then because I did not claim Tax Rebate). I prefer the Classic models which are more subtle compared to the seasonal bling bling models. And a classic model will most probably be still on sale at Chanel Boutique in years to come and therefore we get to shiok sendiri when we see the freaking high price.

One place where it is no longer smart of us to buy anything is in UK! Because we no longer get any Tax Rebate for stuff bought in UK. Many years ago, when my wife and I visited the Chanel Boutique in Bond Street, we had to wait to be served. However, last April 2023, we were immediately entertained by a Sales Advisor as there were hardly anyone there. I told the Sales Advisor that the Chanel Classic Double Flaps are cheaper in KL compared to London and he did not believe me…… so he googled and true enough Chanel handbags are cheaper in KL compared to UK, hahaha. But I became good “friends” with the Sales Advisor as we talked about Rolex watches and he told me that one of his colleagues managed to get a Rolex almost immediately because he chatted with someone who sold Rolex watches in a bar, hahaha. Oh I forgot to mention, the Sales Advisor agreed with me that Black Caviar is easier to maintain compared to smooth lambskin leather.

Another thing I must warn all if you buy luxury handbags overseas, you may be taxed at KLIA or KLIA2. Click here to Malaysia Airlines website which tells you the Duty Free Allowance of most countries.

Anyway, I hardly buy shoes for my wife. If she is buying shoes, I will not be bothered to accompany her as she will spend too much time trying out the different models. The thing is, women are a different species which I can’t comprehend. Why the heck do they need so many pairs of shoes. I tell you, now that 2 of my daughters are also adults, combining their shoes and my wife’s shoes, my freaking small apartment in Melbourne is like a shoe warehouse…. close your eyes and imagine….. endless racks left and right and shoe boxes stacked from bottom to the top!

If you have read my Live Travel Report with Malaysia Airlines April 2024, you will know that my wife and I were in Melbourne. It was a Public Holiday in Australia a few days after we landed. So my youngest daughter was able to join us for lunch.

During lunch, my youngest daughter told my wife that David Jones in the city (which is near our apartment) now has a section where there are many Chanel Shoes on display and available for sale. She asked my wife if she wants to go and check it out after lunch. Of course my wife said yes. I on the other hand returned to my freaking small apartment and enjoyed a cup of coffee with my fags.

Well, my wife and daughter returned after 5pm and my wife told me that our youngest daughter had bought her a pair of Chanel shoes and the Sales Advisor told them it was the only remaining pair in my wife’s size available in whole of Australia! My youngest daughter said she got it as a mother’s day gift for mummy.

Since the Chanel Camellia shoes cost equivalent to RM7.5K, my wife wanted to claim Tax Refund (for Australia, we have up to 60 days from date of purchase) where she can get back about RM650. Therefore she paid for the shoes with her Supp Maybank Visa Infinite (before Maybank announced they were inflating their Air Miles Conversion Rate). What this means is I also earn close to 3.5K air miles (based in the latest conversion rate of 1 air mile = RM2 spent overseas). My youngest daughter will reimburse me the actual cost once the Tax Refund is credited into my Maybank VI Account which may take up to 14 days from the day we claim the Tax Refund at the airport.

Well, I was not surprised that my youngest daughter bought the Chanel Camellia Shoes for my wife…… because like most of you my die hard long time followers know, she is earning big bucks!

What big bucks am I talking about? Let me put in this way, each of my children who are working in Australia are earning more per year than my last annual income while I was still working as a Salaryman before I became a bum in Jan 2011!

How much was my annual income in Malaysia before I fired my boss in 2011 you may ask….. let me put it this way, my annual income qualified me for a CIMB World MasterCard when it was first launched and it was the highest ranking credit card back then. There was no World Elite MasterCard back in 2011. Today the same CIMB World MasterCard annual income requirement is less than half when I applied for it!

Having said the above, all of you my credit card followers know that most Premier/Privilege Credit Cards are just for us to shiok sendiri and the CIMB World MasterCard today is damn useless!!! I have not used my CIMB World MasterCard for years but I have been holding on to it because it is FREE FOR LIFE! I just need to contribute RM25 SST from my heart to the government yearly so that they have money to provide services to the rakyat.

I have been telling you guys over and over again, do not cancel any FREE For Life credit cards because once you are unemployed or retired you may not be eligible for new credit cards from banks which you do not hold any credit cards with.

Well, in the last quarter of 2022, CIMB introduced 3 Travel MasterCard and because I was holding the FREE For Life CIMB World MasterCard with CL of 6 figures, I was automatically approved for the Travel World Elite MasterCard 🙂 Thus I was earning lots of air miles in 2023 with the CIMB TWE MasterCard. And because I spent more than what was required to be eligible for annual fee waiver, this year I am still holding it just to enter Plaza Premium First, hahahaha. But I will definitely need to terminate the CIMB TWE before end of this year to avoid paying the annual fee……. but I am still holding and will continue to hold the CIMB World MasterCard simply because it is FREE For Life.

If you have been a long time follower, you would have read my article Secret to Eternal Happiness (if you have not, click here) where I mentioned:

The most important thing about Life is that we must die happy!

In one of my past articles I mentioned – the reason why we are able to accumulate wealth in this lifetime is because we had peace (and generally still have except for some parts of the globe). It has been close to 80 years since the last World War II.

And in another article I mentioned – because there is peace, i.e. no war in where we are living, the wealth accumulated can last for 5 or more generations. But in order for the wealth to continuously grow, the offspring must be educated and not into drugs or china dolls/toy boys or gambling.

So with the children being educated, then they will be earning their own money and thus not burn away their ancestors’ accumulated wealth. I have told my long time die hard followers, my great grandpa who has no formal education (he was alive when I was young and he will take my dad’s younger cousins and me to the movies) came from China to Malaysia and was freaking poor. He was so poor that he could not afford to send my grandpa to secondary school and both of them cried because of this. So my grandpa, who studied up to Primary School, started working at a very young age and learned English by himself and was the first elected Councillor in our town (many moons ago Councillors were elected not like today appointed based on political parties). Anyway, my grandpa believed in providing to all his children the opportunity to further their studies which he did not have. My dad was the first University graduate in our family where he obtained an Engineering degree from University Malaya. Several of my uncles are also Engineers and one of them is an Accountant. My youngest uncle obtained a Masters in Engineering from UK. And because my dad and uncles are all graduates, they did not need to rely on my grandpa for money to survive.

Then came my generation, I have a Masters in Engineering from USA. All my siblings also graduated from USA and my youngest sister was accepted into an Ivy League University (one of the most prestigious universities on earth) for her undergraduate degree and subsequently obtained a PhD and was made a Professor in a California State University. So my generation also did not need my dad’s money to survive after we graduated as we were making more than enough.

For the records, my dad was short of cash when my brother and I entered university as Malaysia was having a recession and all his clients were not paying him. He had to sell his bungalow in an exclusive area for dirt cheap price in order to pay for our education.

Then came my children, my eldest has 3 degrees (Bachelor of Engineering from a Top 10 Engineering Uni in USA, Masters in Engineering from an Ivy League Uni and finally a Doctor of Medicine M.D. from a World’s Top 30 Uni for Medicine in Australia) and is now a doctor in Australia.

My second child a daughter is the smartest where she hardly studied and was constantly watching K-Pop but always aced her exams. During her SPM, the day before her Physics exam she went to Stadium Negara to attend her favorite K-Pop group concert! She graduated with a Pharmacy Degree from a Top 5 Pharmacy Uni in the World with Honours and then obtained a Masters in Teaching from a Top 50 Uni in the World for Teaching/Education (she was accepted for a Juris Doctor program, i.e. law, but refused to enroll into it despite all my brainwashing).

My third child, a boy who is a gaming addict where all he does is play games whole day. He graduated from University of Melbourne (the No.1 Uni in Australia) majoring in Accountancy and Banking & Finance. I then told him he must get a Masters Degree related to computer and thus he pursued a Masters in Data Science from the No.1 Uni in Australia for Technology. He is now attached to an Investment Bank but working from home! I tell you, his job is the best job in the world as he gets to play computer games while he is working – one monitor for work and another to play games!

My youngest daughter is freaking kiasu like me and planned for everything in advance. She managed to secure a place in an Elite High School in Melbourne. Unlike her other siblings who had no ambition while in High School, this youngest daughter already set intention to work in an Investment Bank. She also graduated from the No.1 Uni in Australia and still at the age of 21 years old, immediately after she graduated she was employed by an Investment Bank in Australia and thus earning big bucks (6 figures in AUD).

So once again, my children after they graduated did not need money from me to survive. And the moment my children got themselves a job, they could apply for their own credit cards (all of them have Black Visa – highest ranked Visa in Australia) and started earning their own air miles. My eldest son has been collecting air miles the longest and has experienced many Biz Class flights. To them RM10K is nothing as it is around AUD3K+ only, as such they will go on holidays in luxury where they can spend RM3K a night on hotels which I will never do because I earned MYR, hahaha.

And because my son is a doctor in Australia, after a year working he could afford to buy a single storey bungalow in Australia. He can afford to pay for tickets to fly Biz Class Return Australia/KL with Singapore Airlines last minute (his leave was only approved a week before CNY) back to KL this year for CNY as he could not get a Biz Class ticket with his Qantas Points.

The point of the above story is to tell you – (1) I had set intention that all my children will graduate from a World’s Top 100 University which they did BUT I never set intention what degrees they will pursue and thus 3 older ones had no ambitions, hahaha. But since they graduated from a World’s Top 100 University with the RIGHT Degrees, they can find work easily and earn big bucks; (2) because my children are earning big bucks, they do not need to disturb me for money (as I mentioned each of them working in Australia are earning more than my last drawn pay as a salaryman in Malaysia) and thus I can now enjoy my life and spend their inheritance (remember I mentioned that because of peace, wealth in a family can last for 5 or more generations and as such their inheritance cannot finish during my lifetime as they are also accumulating their own wealth – unless there is WWIII or an Alien Invasion then everything will go kaput).

So coming back to my Secret To Eternal Happiness – And when we are about to die, the best is with our last breath we leave this world with a smile, and this would be my case where I do not need to worry about my children and I have experienced a wonderful life this time around on planet earth and I will die peacefully when the time comes.

Last but not least. most of you are reading this are educated and therefore you are making more money that your parents and do not need to disturb them for you to survive but you appreciate their sacrifices to enable you to earn a degree and having the good life you have now.
