Children Education Path 2025
If you have been following me for years and read my Children Education Path series, you will know that I have mentioned that all my children from a very young age (by 3 years old) started with Ladybird Peter and Jane series.
My children only read 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b until 12b and never did any of the Xc books which are mainly exercises. And by the time they reach 11a, I tell you, the child can read any book and most probably would have migrated to novels!
Bros & Sis, please do message me if your child have benefited from Peter & Jane series or update me on their progress in their education path.
The moment any of my children entered Standard 1, I would create a time table for them after school, where they are to study certain subjects and do homework from Monday to Thursday only. And if they have finished all their homework on Friday after school, they can play all they want until Monday. I tell you, all my children were No.1 in their class/standard while in Primary School. Once they entered Secondary School, I expect them to do their own time table and don’t get involve in their studies. They are expected to do well, i.e. I already set intention when they are very young that they will graduate from a World Top 100 University and have good paying jobs.
Once I had set intention, then my actions are on autopilot towards the intention. For example, I have been brainwashing/conditioning my children when they were very young the importance of graduating from a top university. I will tell them, see, if you don’t study and graduate from a good university then you won’t have a nice car (I was issued company cars – Merc E Class and then BMW 5 Series and then Volvo SC90) and a driver (I had a chauffeur when I was a salaryman until I fired my boss at age of 42 years old and became a bum because of my eyes issue) like papa but ride motorbike! Therefore, my children knows that I expect them to graduate from a good university and it is for their own benefit that they do.
I still can remember my second son was not able to read very well before he entered kindergarten as he was more into computer gaming where I was even playing Ragnarok Online with him (all my children had access to computer games when they are super young). So I forced him to read Peter & Jane series and by the time he was able to read 11a, he was reading Star Wars Novel which were damn thick!
Many of my followers have thanked me for introducing them to Peter and Jane where they have seen tremendous improvement in their child’s reading skills.
As I mentioned, my second son was reading super thick novels once he reached Peter and Jane book 11a….. and because he is so used to reading books, I guess that is why reading school text books are not a hassle, hahaha. This second son of mine have graduated from University of Melbourne (Ranked No.1 in Australia) with a Bachelor of Commence majoring in Accountancy and Banking & Finance. He then pursued a Masters in Data Science (yes in Australia you can do a Master Degree which has nothing to do with your Bachelor Degree) and now has the best job on earth, as far as I am concerned, as he works from home which means he can be anywhere on planet earth! He is assigned to an Investment Bank in Hong Kong but he can work from Melbourne or Malaysia or anywhere as long as there is access to the internet!
As for my eldest son, he has a Bachelor of Engineering from a Top 10 USA Engineering Uni and Masters in Engineering from an Ivy League Uni in USA. While pursuing his Masters, he finally decided to be a doctor and therefore did his M.D. in Australia and now earning pretty good money where he had bought his second property last year and a new BMW this year.
My older daughter is super intelligent where she does not need to study much but yet graduated with First Class Honours from the No.1 Pharmacy Uni in Australia which is also top 10 in the world. However after graduating with a Pharmacy Degree, she decided it was not for her and pursued a Masters in Teaching but refused to work after that! I tell you this girl is the smartest of all where she refused to work and enjoying life, haha. She is not into material stuff and don’t need much money since I have provided a roof over head either in Melbourne or Malaysia and the most important thing is that she has FREE internet access, haha. I tell you, she not working also benefits my wife and I as we can instruct her to do this and that as she is very handy, e.g. if I want to adjust my watch strap she will do it and helps my wife and dad on this related to gadgets.
In respect to my youngest GenZ Dragon daughter, she was still in Primary School when I started blogging. She was the first in the family to have an Apple device, i.e. Apple iPod Touch in 2007 (similar to first iPhone except there is no Sim card) followed with iPad.
So with the Apple devices over the years, she was surfing the internet and learning stuff to the extend she thinks she is smarter than me, hahaha. Seriously, this youngest daughter of mine fortunately was not into games but more info gathering information. And she is super disciplined where she would go to bed early when she was young without needing to be told but she is also super kiasu (cannot lose to others) and loves money!
Unlike my other 3 older children, this youngest daughter of mine already knows what she wants to become while in middle high school, i.e. before 16 years old. I tried to brainwash her many times to be a doctor but she had set intention to be an Investment Banker! So at the age of 16 years old, after she was accepted into an all Elite Girl High School in Melbourne, she had already started research on what actions she has to take in order to be an Investment Banker.
While in Year 11 she applied to University of Melbourne to attend a course while in Year 12 and I only found out while we were holidaying in Hawaii where she announced the was accepted into University of Melbourne. As you can see, she is very secretive and did not let me know she applied to University of Melbourne until her application was successful. Therefore in her final year of high school (Year 12), she was attending both High School and University of Melbourne.
Like I said my older daughter is super intelligent where she managed to secure an ATAR Score of 99.X, which means she is amongst the top 1%. So this youngest daughter who is super kiasu cannot lose to her older sister. So while in Year 10 she planed what actions and courses she must take in order to score a higher ATAR score than her older sister! Well, she did score an ATAR Scodre of 99.x too, but higher than her older sister by 0.2.
So with her excellent ATAR Score she is piratically assured of any degree that she wants, but like I said she already planed to be an Investment Banker and therefore pursued a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Economics and Banking & Finance (to me this is a non-professional but general degree but it is not my life nor my choice to make). She joined all the necessary clubs to built up her resume/CV the moment she entered Uni. And in her second year she was already an intern with Ernest & Young and was offered a job upon graduation. However in her 3rd year of Uni she won a competition to intern with an Investment Bank in Sydney and upon her completing her internship she was offered a job with the Investment Bank with a starting salary of 6 figures p.a. in Aussie Dollars! Imagine your child at age 21 earning AUDxxx,xxx.00 p.a.
My youngest daughter is only in her mid-twenties now and has since changed job and of course earning much more today. Actually she earns more than her doctor eldest brother who attended 3 different universities totaling more than 10 years while she only studied in uni for 3 years!
But earning more money has a price…. because my younger daughter is an Investment Banker, she works really long hours Monday to Thursday, where on certain days she may come home close to midnight and next morning need to wake up and go back to work. I tell you, my doctor son do not need to work as hard. However, weekends they are really free to do whatever they want.
So the point of the above story are:
- If the child has an ambition at a young age, it would then drive them to achieve their goals – example my youngest daughter.
- If the child has no ambition, i,e, no intention, then it may take sometime before he/she knows what he/she really wants. For example my eldest son wasted years doing Engineering where he could have gone straight to Med School after high school. Or my second son who had no ambition but somehow really blessed to get a job that allows him to work and play computer game at the same time! And my older daughter, who has a Master Degree like me but both of us are bums, hahahahaha.
- The most important thing for us parents is that we must set intention for our children when they are young so that our actions will be on autopilot guiding the children (e.g. starting them off with Peter and Jane, saving money for their uni tuition fees, conditioning them on importance of going to a top uni and etc) towards our intention (must be general like they graduate from a good uni so that they have a good job and a good life and not too specific like they are to be an astronaut else you are setting expectation and my get disappointing).
- And with your child graduating from a World Top 100 University, they can then earn big bucks anywhere on earth, not necessarily in Australia or UK but can be in Singapore.
Last but not least, as long as we as parents set intention and provided for our child to obtain the right degree from a good university and therefore will have a good life and not disturb us for money when they graduate, we have done our job as parents. The rest is up to the child to make his/her own choices which will determine his/her own experience on planet earth.
