Conclusion
As shown in previous pages, when we book a room using our Enrich Miles with Enrich Hotels, we only get a value of about RM0.03 for each Enrich Mile. This is equivalent to redeeming an Economy Class ticket.
However, please note, if you use combination of Enrich Miles and Cash, then 1 Enrich Mile may be worth much less. Best you redeem the room in full with Enrich Miles to maximize the value of your Enrich Miles.
I have been telling you guys for years that it is damn stupid to use our Enrich Miles for Economy Class tickets……. 1 Enrich Mile is only worth RM0.03, that’s less that USD0.01, i.e. less than 1 cent!!!
In respect to the above, if you are earning 1 Enrich Mile with every Ringgit spent with your Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX Reserve from your local spending, this works out to be about 3% return. Not too bad if you compare to cash back credit cards BUT damn stupid because we can get better value with our Enrich Miles when redeeming for Business Class tickets to London and maybe Australia.
Having said the above, we are not flying anywhere soon, either on Economy Class or Business Class, so with 1 Enrich Mile worth RM0.03 is way better than what I showed you when converting our Enrich Miles to BInfinite Points were we get about RM0.016 value per Enrich Mile. Enrich Hotels is close to 100% better than converting to BInfinite Points!!!
What about if you only earn 1 Enrich Mile for every RM2.50 spent locally (2X TP with MBB VI)? Then we are talking about 1.2% return.
What if you are earning 5X TP with your Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX Reserve or Visa Infinite from overseas spending? Well, you will earn nothing because we are imposed 3% to 4% overseas admin fees!!! Therefore, only fools will use their TPs earned from overseas transactions to redeem for Economy Class tickets whereas the smart ones will convert their TPs to KrisFlyer Miles and redeem for First Class tickets only.
What about CIMB Enrich Platinum MasterCard where we earn 1 EM for every RM4 spent? In this case, you will be getting about 0.75% return. Less than 1%.
Unless you are an Air Miles fan or my disciple, you may not understand the above paragraphs and it really does not matter; because the purpose of this tutorial is to show you what you can do with your Enrich Miles in view of current developments and situation.
