Emirates A380 First Class β Part 2
Now about the lunch at the First Class lounge (you can check out the menu here: https://c.ekstatic.net/ecl/documents/lounge/first-class-lounge-menu-dxb.pdf ) – Lunch was a feast.
We had starters like smoked salmon (HUGE slices), miso teriyaki octopus and foie gras terrine and the nice sunchoke soup… the ordering of food was First Class by itself. We felt like VIPs with all the attention and service. They timed everything well, and would appropriately check on whether we are ready or happy with the food they’ve served us. Drinks are also really good. I began with Moet and Chandon Brut and then 2005 Chateau Leoville-Las Cases ‘Clos du Marquis’ (RM350 a bottle, https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/leoville+cases+clos+du+marquis+st+julien+medoc+bordeaux+france/2005) to go along with the main dish (I had lamb shank while my wife had wagyu beef tenderloin).
We both agree the Wagyu beef tenderloin is a class above – totally delicious and perfectly prepared. We were so stuffed so decided to take a break before returning for the famous Middle Eastern Tres leches cake. The break was initially planned for a 15 mins complimentary spa but somehow someone gotten the time wrong. We felt the opportunity to enjoy first class travel is already such a blessings, so we didn’t argue over the missed spa issue – the people at the counter is also just doing their job. Instead of spa, we went explore the place further – the nap room.
Now we get to see the nap room as it should have been our target place if we were to spend the 17 hours transit at the airport (but we got blessed instead to transit in the Le Meridien hotel FOC π ). The best thing visiting the nap room after lunch – it is EMPTY! We hung around, took pictures and think if there is no crowd, this place is really nice to catch a nap between meals or flights. We took some time to lie down and chat, and reflect how blessed we are to be taught by Sifu GenX and are able to enjoy such luxurious travel. Next, we went back to the restaurant area for the Middle Eastern Tres leches cake and coffee!
The presentation of the cake is again beautiful. The cake with a large scoop of pistachio ice cream and the dry ice was beautifully served. Even video can’t do justice. We took our time to enjoy the desert, then I took a short walk to checked out the buffet area and I must say – I have no problem spending even 10 hours here at the lounge – So much food to choose from and you will only get fascinated with everything you can experience here slowly.
Knowing we are 1 hour away from our next flight, then only we learned that we can exit from the lounge directly to the gate for business and first class passengers! Now that’s flying with style – no queue or sitting in a crowded place to be called. The nice lady at the exit told us we can wait at the lounge for another 10-15 minutes – so we decided to go for some sashimi! And boy was that a good decision. Fresh and beautifully prepared sashimi were presented and boy we enjoyed our 20 minutes of pleasure until we finished them and saw some passengers queuing at the gate (must be business class people since no one from the First class lounge has gone out). The check in was easy – fully automated with nice face and passport scanning, self-service style. And very soon we are already on the A380-800 First Class cabin.
I hope this summary for the A380-800 and First Class lounge is not too long or boring. In fact I am still overwhelmed with such as experience – as both of us looked at the photos we took, we still feel very blessed that we have such opportunity to experience First Class with Emirates. I am very grateful to be guided by Sifu GenX, especially many times I was so blur and busy that I missed his instructions or asked for things he already mentioned multiple times. But Sifu has always been patient with a blur sotong like me, and encouraged me to set the right intention. This piece of advice, along with others with good positive values, are the best things I’ve learned from Sifu. In this world and our lives, if we do not set our mind and heart correctly, nothing will satisfy us. But when we do it right, we will appreciate what we have, and treasure the most important things around us than chasing money and materials that will one day go away. I thought i know them well, but constantly being reminded and rebuked by Sifu GenX helped me to stay on track.
That’s all for my sharing. Thanks for readingπ
