Malaysia Airlines Enrich Saver Business Class Redemption Is Back And We Can Easily Redeem Departing From KLIA BUT…..

If you are a long time die hard follower of mine and a fan of Enrich Points, you will most probably hold an Alliance Bank Visa Infinite or Platinum and I am very sure you are delighted that Malaysia Airlines has once again allow redemption of Enrich Saver tickets after months suspending it.

However, there are some changes to how we can redeem Enrich Saver tickets!!!

I can redeem Enrich Saver Biz One-Way KL to Melbourne

First I searched one-way Biz KL to Melbourne and I can redeem Enrich Saver tickets on many days.

Below is an example where I only need to pay RM377 when I use 53,500 Enrich Points to redeem for a Business Class ticket KL to Melbourne on 2nd December 2023.

Bros and Sis, I started drafting this article on 9th November 2023 and it is indeed wonderful that I can manage to redeem a Biz Class Enrich Saver ticket to Melbourne on 2nd December which is less than 1 month away.

I can also redeem Enrich Saver Biz Return KL/Melbourne

I then try return KL/Melbourne. Once again departing on 2nd December from KL and return from Melbourne on13th December 2023:

As you can observe from above image, I can get an Enrich Saver Biz ticket Melbourne to KL where I also only need 53,500 Enrich Points.

So far Enrich Saver is excellent if we are either redeeming for One-Way or Return departing from KLIA.

BUT When I Tried To Redeem Departing From Melbourne, I Can’t Get An Enrich Saver Biz Class Ticket!!!

In above Return KL/Melbourne, I could get an Enrich Saver Biz Class on 13th December 2023 departing from Melbourne to KL.

However when I searched departing from Melbourne to KL One-Way, there was no Enrich Saver Biz Class tickets!!! See image below:

WTF! 335,900 Enrich Points for a One-Way Biz Class ticket Melbourne to KL?!!! Malaysia Airlines has gone bonkers?

I Then Tried Return Melbourne/KL

So I thought Malaysia Airlines only allowed us the option to redeem Enrich Saver tickets when we redeem for Return tickets departing outside of Malaysia. Boy, was I wrong!

See below – no Enrich Saver even for flights departing from KLIA when our starting departure point is outside Malaysia!!

Once again, if you refer to the first example, I could get an Enrich Saver Biz ricket on 2nd December when my starting departure point is from KLIA. BUT when I searched return Melbourne/KL, i.e. my starting departure point is from Melbourne, I can’t get an Enrich Saver Biz Class when returning KL to Melbourne on 2nd December 2023!!! Ridiculous! Totally absurd!

Is Malaysia Airlines Management Not Bothered About Overseas Customers?

So based on the examples above, if you are residing in Malaysia then it is good that we can redeem for an Enrich Saver tickets. But this action does not benefit all Malaysians and foreigners who support Malaysia Airlines.

Now say your child is going to study in Australia or UK, most probably you would only redeem one-way ticket for him/her. But when the child wants to return to Malaysia there is no Enrich Saver tickets to redeem!!!

I pity those Malaysians who reside in Australia and UK where many of them do support Malaysia Airlines but are unable to redeem Enrich Saver Biz tickets when departing from overseas. Same case for foreigners who support Malaysia Airlines.

In respect to the above, I am going to tell those of you who reside in Australia what to do – fly AirAsia back to KL and then redeem Enrich Saver one-way back to Australia, hahaha. Seriously, you should compare the price of AirAsia one-way Flat Bed say Sydney to KL versus Malaysia Airlines Economy Class. Below is an example:

It only cost RM743 and RM3,213 when you fly one-way Sydney to KLIA 2 with AirAsia on Economy and Flat Bed respectively.

When AirAsia has promo, a Flat Bed one-way ticket Sydney to KL can be as cheap as RM2,500!!!

Below is the price for one-way with Malaysia Airlines Sydney to KLIA:

With Malaysia Airlines, you need to pay about RM2K and RM10K for one-way Sydney to KL on Economy and Business Class respectively!

So the smart thing to do is either fly one-way on Economy or Flat Bed with AirAsia Sydney to KL and then book Enrich Saver back departing from KL to Sydney, hahahaha.

I really do not understand why Malaysia Airlines Management does not allow their customers to redeem Enrich Saver tickets when departing from Australia or UK as of 9th November 2023. If I am residing overseas and I have Enrich Points, I will then be forced to fly with AirAsia or if I dislike Budget Airlines, I will then fly with Singapore Airlines and earn KrisFlyer Miles which I can then redeem for Biz Class tickets with the KrisFlyer Saver Option. For those residing in Australia, FYI, Velocity Frequent Flyer Points (which we can earn from Coles, Officeworks, KMart and etc) can also be used to redeem Singapore Airlines flights.

The fact is this, KrisFlyer and Asia Miles allow us to redeem one-way ticket from anywhere and we need less miles compared to Malaysia Airlines (the absurd example we need 335,900 Enrich Points to redeem a Biz Class Melbourne to KL).

Hopefully Malaysia Airlines Management will rectify the the above said matter where all can also redeem Enrich Saver tickets from Australia and UK so that more people will opt for Enrich Points which is “advance money” for Malaysia Airlines.
