Get The Maybank Mercedes Benz Visa Infinite

Most of you would be considering to terminate your Maybank 2 Cards Premier in view of the freaking bad returns we get from Local Spending. Before you terminate your Maybank 2 Cards Premier, I recommend that you not only get the Maybank 2 Platinum Cards as mentioned in my previous article, BUT you should also sign up for the Maybank Mercedes Benz Visa Infinite. if you have not.

Why?

Because it is a METAL CARD and therefore you get to Shiok Sendiri, hahaha.

Other reason to get the Maybank MB VI Metal Card is that the first 2 years annual fee is waived – which means you still get to enter Plaza Premium Lounge for at least a year.

Now why did I mention at least a year above and not 2 years?

You see, Maybank determines your card anniversary date based on your current card. Example, say your current Maybank 2 Cards Premier anniversary is on 1st August 2024 and you did not spend RM80K to have the annual fee waived.

So you must go sign up for the Maybank MB VI Metal Card on 8th July 2024 so that you can terminate your Maybank 2 Cards Premier before 1st August 2024 so that you won’ be imposed the Annual Fee and SST.

However because you sign up on 8th July 2024, the first year annual fee is waived until your Maybank Account Card Anniversary which falls on 1st August 2024. Therefore if you do not spend RM80K from 1st August 2024 to 3oth July 2025 (2nd year), you will be imposed RM800 annual fee come 1st August 2025!!!

In respect to the above paragraphs on the so called 2 year annual fee waiver, I hope I am wrong BUT I can tell you that ALL MY Maybank Credit Cards have the same expiry month regardless as to when I sign up for it! For example, I signed up for the Maybank MB VI Metal Card late last year but the Expiry month is not on the month I got the card but the same month as my all my Maybank Credit Cards, i.e. same as my Maybank 2 Cards Premier and Maybank 2 Platinum Cards. Shit, this reminds me that I have to start using my Maybank MB VI Metal Card and hit the minimum RM80K spending before the anniversary date in 2025!!!

However, if you did spend RM80K with your Maybank 2 Cards Premier so that your annual fee is waived, only sign up for the Maybank MB VI Metal Card after your anniversary so that you can get 2 years annual fee waived. After you get the Maybank MB VI only terminate your Maybank 2 Cards Premier.
