You Can Now Convert Your CIMB Credit Cards Bonus Points To Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles Plus 11 Other Partners

Recently CIMB added Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles to their Redemption Catalogue. Below are the latest Bonus Points required to redeem for vatious Frequent Flyer Program Miles/Points.

From the above image, in addition to KrisFlyer Miles being added to the Redemption Catalogue, we now must redeem in blocks of 5K Air Miles or FFP Points.

As usual, just like other credit cards, we need the least CIMB Points to redeem AirAsia BP (and I have published many articles on how useless AA points are including recently where I was so pissed off that I could not use my AA Points to offset a ticket SIN to KUL and was blessed instead with a Malaysia Airlines ticket that cost cheaper as it included check-in luggage!)

Click here to read my article AirAsia Pissed Me Off And I Was Blessed With A Malaysia Airlines Ticket SG to KL For About The Same Price, and you will be shocked that MAlaysia Airlines ticket price SIN to KUL is about the same as AirAsia!

Oops, got carried away with AirAsia, back to CIMB Bonus Points.

So we need 75K CIMB Bonus Points to redeem 5K KrisFlyer Miles or Etihad Airways or Cathay Pacific Asia Miles or Emirates Skywards and Qatar Airways.

The reason the above airlines are mentioned is because you can use their Frequent Flyer Program Miles/Points to redeem First Class tickets!

So if you are earning 5X Bonus Points, you need to spend RM15K at least. What this means is that you will earn 1 Air Mile for every RM3 spent on the relevant categories that earn you 5X Bonus Points.

So if you are earning 10X Bonus Points, you need to spend RM7.5K at least. What this means is that you will earn 1 Air Mile for every RM`1.50 spent on the relevant categories that earn you 10X Bonus Points. Well, this may sound good but you better read CIMB TnC for your credit card and you will get a headache, hahaha. I tell you, for overseas spending just get UOB Visa Infinite or UOB PRVI Miles Elite or better still UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite where you will earn more air miles per RM spent overseas including for Online Transactions.

In respect to the above mentioned 5X and 10X Bonus Points, you better read the TnC for the specific credit card you are holding from CIMB.

And CIMB is also now having promos where certain credit cards are eligible for Additional Monthly Bonus Points. For example, the CIMB Visa Infinite until April 2025 earns you 7.5K (minimum spending RM3K) or 15K Bonus Points (minimum spending RM5K) BUT there is a monthly quota! Which means the 7.5K or 15K additional Bonus Points ARE NOT GUARANTEED!

Whatever it is, when it comes to CIMB Credit Card Promos, especially Additional Monthly Bonus Points Promos, you better read the TnC!

As for CIMB Preferred Banking Visa Infinite I suggest you better read my articles on UOB Credit Cards and you will find that UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite is way better than CIMB Preferred Banking Visa Infinite as far as guaranteed Reward Points from credit cards are concerned. The only thing good about the CIMB Preferred Banking Visa Infinite is that it is totally FREE FOR LIFE (you do not have to spend a sen with it but just for Lounge Access is fine) but then again I have not paid a single sen to UOB since I got their PB VI years ago.

Anyway, it is good that CIMB has included Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles to their redemption catalogue.
