Many of my readers have thanked me for my articles on Chanel handbags years ago, where I mentioned that we should get them as advance gifts as the price keeps going up.
For example back in 2020 I mentioned that my wife was looking for a Chanel Coco Top Handle and the Chanel Boutique in KL had the Small Coco Top Handle in Navy Blue (looks like black) Caviar and Black Chevron. So I bought both, one for my wife and another for my youngest daughter as a birthday present for 3 years (2019, 2020 and 2021) PLUS as a graduation gift (2021) – 4 in 1, hahaha. The Chanel Mini Top Handle cost about RM15K then and today (2025) we need to pay close to RM30K!
And in 2023, I told all my readers to get the Classic Chanel Double Flap while it was still below RM50K.

Today the Classic Chanel Double Flap cost more than RM50K.
So with Chanel Classic handbags now being sold at ridiculous prices today, I refuse to buy anymore Chanel handbags for my wife (but then again she already has many). My wife agrees that Chanel prices are exorbitant and therefore, she said might as well get Hermes handbags instead.

My eldest son is now into Hermes and bought his wife a Hermes handbag too from the boutique. Yes, sometimes we can get certain handbags from the Boutique without playing the Hermes game. So he shared with his wife and siblings to get me a Hermes Mug as a Father’s Day gift.
