INTRODUCTION
If you are a die hard long time follower, I am pretty sure you have credit cards that allow you FREE access to airport lounges at least at KLIA 1. For example, the Maybank Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Platinum AMEX allows you 5X complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounges worldwide! Yes, the MBB KF Platinum AMEX does have annual fee after the 1st year BUT you should also know by now that you should call Maybank CS to have the annual fee waived IF you have been using the card for most of your expenses which would easily exceed RM15K per year. IF you do not spend a sen with the MBB KF Platinum AMEX and you expect Maybank to waive the annual fee then I tell you that you better get a FREE FOR LIFE credit card for Airport Lounge access so that you do not need to waste your time calling Maybank CS to beg for the annual fee waived and also telling them what an @$$LuBang you are, hahahaha. There are many “useless” credit cards in the market require us to spend RM500 or RM1K 30 days prior to us using the credit card for FREE Access to Airport Lounges. But if you are reading this I bet you are not that stupid to use the “useless” credit cards for whatever transaction, haha.
And many credit cards do allow us FREE access to airport lounges but it comes with annual fee especially after the 1st year, examples of credit cards under this category are UOB PRVI Elite (annual waived with RM50K spending), Maybank Visa Infinite (annual waived with RM80K spending) and etc.
Many Priority/Premier/Privilege Banking (starting with minimum RM200K in AUM) credit cards, such as FREE For Life Alliance Bank PB Status VI, FREE For Life Ambank Priority Signature VI, FREE For Life CIMB Preferred VI and FREE For Life UOB Privilege Banking VI, also allow us FREE access to airport lounges.
Not everyone has few hundred thousands in AUM with one or all the banks mentioned in above paragraph,
Moreover, if you are traveling with a partner or even your adult children or parents, you will need more than 1 credit card that offers FREE access to Airport Lounges. FREE For Life Bank Muamalat EON Visa Infinite-i
Correction – Bank Mualamat Webpage was misleading as it shows the EON VI with Cash Back at Pos Malaysia.
This card is FREE For Life and it allows you FREE access to Travel Club Lounge – (2) domestic accesses per calendar year. Now, it is clearly stated Domestic so take note.
In addition to the 2X access to Travel Club Lounge mentioned above, what makes this credit card stand out from others is that Bank Mualamat advertised that is gives 5% cash back for Contactless .

Because of the misleading advertisement, I learned that about the Bank Mualamat Pos Malaysia Visa Infinite-i which is also FREE FOR LIFE and gives you access to Plaza Premium Lounge too.
You must check out BOTH the Bank Mualamat Visa Infinite-i credit cards mentioned above if your annual income is more than RM120K p.a. AND get both cards since there are FREE FOR LIFE!
AmBank Enrich Visa Platinum
I won’t touch on the Rewards Points that you can earn with this card as I have mentioned it before. The only thing you need to know are (1) this Ambank Enrich Visa Platinum is FREE FOR LIFE and (2) 4X complimentary access to Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge for Principal Cardholder only.
This card is good if you are flying ALONE with Malaysia Airlines Economy Class departing from KLIA to overseas. Please note it is clearly stated for Principal Cardholder only.
OTHER ways you can get FREE access to Airport Lounges for Limited Time
As you know, most credit cards except for Super Premier Credit Cards, the first year annual fee is waived. So for at least 1 year you still can get FREE access to airport lounges without spending a sen!!!
- As mentioned earlier, most of you would have the Maybank Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Amex Platinum 5X (first year annual fee waived and for subsequent years called CS for waiver if you have been using the card to earn KrisFlyer Miles);
- Alliance Bank Visa Infinite 2X (1st year membership waived);
- Maybank Visa Infinite 5X (1st year annual fee waived);
- Maybank Mercedes Benz Visa Infinite 5X (2 years annual fees waived!);
- UOB PRVI Elte, UOB World and UOB VI (1st year annual fee waived);
CONCLUSION
As mentioned above, if you have Premier/Priority/Privilege Banking status where the starting AUM is RM200K, then you will be entitled to a FREE For Life credit card that grants you FREE access to Airport Lounges.
Even if you do not have any Premier/Priority/Privilege Banking status, you should be holding the Maybank Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer AMEX Platinum that grants you 5X Free access to Plaza Premium Lounge.
Having said the above, if you have a partner or children or parents who are traveling with you on Economy Class, especially departing from KLIA 1, then you will need more than one credit card that also grants you FREE access to Airport Lounges – and that is why I produced this article. Yes, you can always use your credit card to allow a guest to use your available quota! Get it?
So plan, if you are traveling with your partner or adult child or parent, get another credit card or cards so that all of you can be together waiting for your flight at the lounge.
Before I forget, if you are flying Business Class or First Class, you may also bring a guest who is traveling on Economy Class with you into the airline’s lounge. Just ask.
As you all know, I have many credit cards that grant me FREE access to Airport Lounges BUT I am going to tell you this, not all our Malaysia credit cards allow us to enter Airport Lounges worldwide! And many times, while overseas, even if my credit card grants me FREE access to the lounge, I still will be on WAITING LIST to enter it because it is over crowded! And did you know that in Istanbul airport there is no Plaza Premium Lounge?

I am now going to tell you which is the Ultimate Card for Airport Lounge.
The Ultimate Airport Lounge Card is the American Express Charge Card because (1) you can enter Plaza Premium First at KLIA 1 (please note it is not the super crowded Plaza Premium Lounge); (2) you can enter The Centurion® Lounge worldwide; (3) Delta Sky Club®; and the most importantly is that is comes with Priority Pass™
One of your Supp cardholder will also get the Priority Pass!!!
So with the AMEX Platinum Charge Card, which allows UNLIMITED access to 1400 Airport Lounges worldwide, the probability of my wife and me securing a place at an airport lounge is way higher than any other Malaysia credit cards.
Last November 2024 when I went to South America to visit Christ The Redeemer, Iguazu Falls and Patagonia Glacier, while in Buenos Aires International Airport, I tell you, I had no issue entering The Centurion Lounge with my wife whereas another lounge which I could enter with my Priority Pass was full and had to wait to enter!
Then in April 2025 when at Mexico City International Airport (I went to Chichen Itza another new 7 Wonders Of The World), I entered The Centurion Lounge and I tell you the service here is freaking good where the waiter will take your order and deliver the food to you! Below is the menu but do not let the price fool you because it was totally FREE!
However I was flying Biz Class departing Cancun Mexico with Turkish Airways and therefore I had free access to the Plaza Premium Lounge. You must try Patron Tequila SILVER (drink it neat) which is cheap and smooth while in Mexico; and you can also easily get Patron Silver at Jaya Grocer! The one and only drink you must buy while in Mexico is Clase Azul Reposado because the price in Malaysia is double that of what you pay in Mexico.
