Where To Buy Gold Affordable Gold As Gifts – Birthdays, Weddings, Full Moon, etc and Best Wife Too.

If you are a long time follower of mine, you will know that I have told all in my original Project Gold members that they should buy gold as gifts instead of giving Ang Pow which will lose its purchasing power over time.

Seriously, buying most things not required for survival, e.g. iphone 18 Pro, Computers, BMW, Chanel Handbags (it can disintegrate with time), diamonds (now got man made even nicer) and etc are just burning money.

On the other hand, gold is forever, even if AI destroy humanity with nuclear bombs or whatever , gold will still be around for centuries. But I don’t think AI will get to destroy humanity as the Aliens will save our primitive civilization.

Oh I better not detour talking about death as it will freak most of you out even though the moment we are born it is the countdown to our death.

So coming back to buying gold as gifts, first of all you need to know what is the current spot rate of gold so that you do not overpay for gold bullion. So below is what you should do:

Step 1 – google : Gold Price org”

Step 2 – Change to MYR and Grams

And you will know the spot price of gold in Ringgit Malaysia per gram.

Save the above to your smartphone Home Screen so you have access to price of gold and even silver anytime.

Buying Gold As Gifts

From the above, you will know the spot rate of gold anytime and then you can determine how much more you are paying in terms of per gram for a particular gold item.

Now, the above Spot Gold Price is for 999 gold or 24K. So if you are buying 22K (916 – 91.7% gold) or 18K gold (75% gold) the price will be reduced accordingly.

So since today 20th September 2026 is a Sunday, the Gold Spot price is based on last market closing price of RM575/g.

When I was a baby and so were my kids, for full moon we were given gold anklets and today those gold anklets are worth lots of money. Recently my wife’s eldest nephew had his first child and we were invited to the baby full moon party is Singapore. So I bought a 22K gold anklet that cost more than RM2K. Well the return air tickets and hotel room in SG also cost us more than RM2K, haha. FYI, there was a cheaper anklet less than RM2K which means less grams which means easier to break and that’s why I did not buy it.

At my stage of life, money is to make my life better and not a big issue as my expenses is almost nil since all my children have grown up and working (each of them earning more per month than my last drawn salary in Malaysia except for a daughter who has Master Degree and Bachelor in Pharmacy who is the smartest where she refused to work and got married and thus my responsibilities are done, haha).

However, I am from the older generation where things were “cheaper”. Today young people are suffering since the salary in Malaysia has not kept up to inflation and thus RM2K may be a huge sum to burn (since giving to someone else) as their monthly salary may not be enough to keep them afloat (if they burn money on installment plans for phone and other non-durable stuff, then I guess they have nobody to blame except themselves for being in the bottomless shit hole of debt and hopefully by reading my articles they be smarter and live within their means).

So many young people today may not be able to afford to pay RM2K for a gift. Here is where I am going to tell you where to buy gold as gift at an affordable price taught to me by my disciples.

Shoppe Live

Four of my disciples taught me that we can get gold at cheaper (per gram) at Shopee, especially on 25th of every month and 2.2, 3.3, …….. 11.11 and 12.12.

You see, at Shopee Live we can get very good vouchers, and there are many 3rd parties selling other people stuff during Live to get commission. And during Shopee Live, we can get special discounts.

So first thing you must do at Shopee is go to Live and then at the Search Bar key in for example 0.5g Habib

Below is a example of a 0.5g Habib Gold Bar:

From the above, I can get a Habib 0.5g Gold Bar for about RM333.37 after I used 3000 Coins to offset the price to be paid. If you have a Cash Back card that gives you 8% or 5% cash back, then the effective price reduces.

Now 0.5g at RM333.37 means I am paying RM666,74 per gram which is higher than the Spot Price of RM575 per gram. Normally, the heavier the gold bar, the cheaper is the price be gram. For example a 1g gold bar should cost more than 5g gold bar PER GRAM.

Below is another example of a 0.5g gold bar from Poh Kong:

And you can even get 0.25g or 0.1g gold from Shopee and get to use 3000 coins and you cash back credit cards too!

Here is an example of Happy Birthday 0.25g gold

And below you can even get 0.1g gold at Shopee!!! Buy 20×0.1g of the below Best Wife and every year give one to your wife and I bet she will be either escalated that you acknowledge her as the Best Wife or she may say she divorcing you as you damn kedekut, hahaha.

As you can see, by you buying 0.2g or 1g gold, the price becomes more “affordable” but not necessary a fantastic deal for gold price in terms of per gram.

Once again, go to Shopee Live, claim all the vouchers, best time Pay Day or x.x and use your cash back credit card (make sure you still have quota or not using the quota for something else).

Oh, you should check Lazada too before you buy at Shopee.

Alternatively, you can also go to gold smith shops (not at the malls) where their price of gold per gram is lower than the price of gold in Malls (these shops in the malls need to pay higher overheads and rentals). You can get 916 gold and you may be surprised that they may even have less than 1g gold to be given as gifts.

NOW, before you give any child gold (or even Ang Pow) as gift, you have to know if the parents can be trusted to be trustee to keep the gold (or cash in the Ang Pow) for their children until they turn 18 years old. For example if you giving gold to a relative who just had a baby and the husband is a gambler or drug addict, 100% the gold will be sold. So if you know the parents are not responsible people, then maybe it is wiser for you to gift Gift Card.Voucher where at least the mother can buy milk for the baby. And you can buy the Gift Card/Voucher with your AMEX too, hahaha.
