My Son’s Rolex GMT Master II Batman
My eldest son scored 10As for SPM at the age of 16. However, he had no ambition! I instructed him to be a doctor but he refused. Maybe he was too young then. Come to think of it, when I was 16 years old, I was partying all the time and “gila” over girls; but at the age of 13 I already had an ambition and work towards it.
So, I decided that I would send my eldest son to the USA to pursue an Engineering Degree. You see, most, if not all of the USA Universities’ first year Engineering Programs are kind of general in nature, where the student only needs to select/determine his intended major in the second year (Sophomore). Therefore, I was hoping that my son would know what he wanted to major in after his Freshman year.
Anyway, this son my mine was accepted into a Top 10 USA Engineering Uni at the age of 16 before his SPM results were out and subsequently obtained his Masters in Engineering from an Ivy League Uni in USA.
In 2015, I bought my eldest son his first Rolex, i.e. GMT Master II Batman (for about RM28K, today it is selling for more than RM33K). Reason was because he made me damn happy when he finally decided to enroll into Med School after burning tons of my money on two Engineering degrees!
In December 2018, he graduated with his third degree, post graduate Doctor of Medicine (M.D) degree from an Australia University ranked as one of the World’s Top 50 Med Schools.
