Previously I shared with you that I managed to secure an Apple iPhone 16e for less than RM2.5K and a few Bros and Sis thanked me for the sharing as they also bought the iPhone 16e.

Well, today I am going to tell you of another fantastic offer I managed to secure at Shopee, this time for the new Apple iPad A16 2025, saving me more than RM300 compared to official price of RM1599.

Why I Decided To Get An Apple iPad

If you nave been following me for years, you will know that I have recommended – (1) have a dedicated smartphone for your Mobile Banking and nothing else where you cannot surf the internet to click here and there and (2) the phone should be an iPhone!

So with the above in mind, I shall continue with my story…..

For Online Banking, I am using an old ASUS notebook which I bought back in 2019 with McAFee anti-virus installed. However, recently the notebook has been giving me some hassles, i.e. where I need to update the clock and sometimes the screen is blank and I have to do this and that. The fact is the damn notebook is more than 5 years old and moreover the screen is not very clear….. so I decided it is time to change.

Oh by the way, if you are Kiasu like me where I do not purchase anti-virus from 3rd parties where we need to give them our email, get anti-virus sofrware from an Official Store. McAfee has an Official Store at Shopee, see below:

Well, an Intel i5 PC notebook without graphic card can easily be bought for less than RM2K; but then I thought about the hassle of installing an anti-vrus program.

Then recently I was talking to a Bro about Bitcoin storage and he told me a story where all his Bitcoin was stolen after he click ad ad at YouTube!!! I don’t know the details but the fact that our computers can be easily hacked made me more kiasu!

And since I have been telling everyone to get an iPhone, I decided I should get a new Macbook Air just for my Online Banking and nothing else (I have 2 units of ACER Nitro 5 to surf the internet with Norton Premium 360 anti-virus installed). Oh yes, there is a difference between Online Banking and Mobile Banking and the most obvious is M2U versus MAE App. We can’t see our credit cards rewards points at MAE nor can we buy gold at MAE App.

By the way, Norton Premium 360 comes with VPN which I can watch many of the Chinese Dramas at several sites (including YouTube) which will be blocked if our IP is from Malaysia.

Then today it hit me, I can get an Apple iPad instead of a Macbook Air. I am only using the device purely for Online Banking and nothing else and an iPad could easily suit my needs plus I can take in anywhere (in my house where I can even do Online Banking while shitting, hahaha).

I do have an old Mac Air 11″ that is still working but I thought I might as well get the new Apple iPad A16 and save me the hassle of updating the IOS.

My wife has 2 Apple iPad mini, but she uses them to watch Korean dramas and other stuff so I am not using her iPads for my Online Banking.

So I searched for Apple iPad, initially I checked out Apple Official Store and noted that the cheapest iPad was RM1599. Then I went to Shopee and saw that I can get the same model for less than RM1.3K; thus saving me more than RM300!!!

So before you hit to BUY button make sure you check the Delivery Date!!!

Now I did add both of them into my Cart and but I did not purchase it immediately. When I wanted to buy the price has increased to RM14XX for both the sellers!!! I was like WTF!

So I deleted both of the orders in my Cart and used another phone to search. After sometime, the offer returned at both the smart phones (some of you know that I play Shopee Coins with more than 2 phones)! This time I immediately tap on BUY and paid with my AMEX!

And since I paid with AMEX, I will also get about 1K air miles 🙂

Conclusion

If you want to save more than 10% (in above case 20%) compared to Apple Official Store for any Apple gadgets, I reckoned that you should visit Shopee frequently to check the prices so that you know what is on offer and when you see a fantastic deal you should buy it!
