Today, I am going to tell you about a covert operation ran by my mum and my wife to secretly bring AMC International gadgets without my knowledge where I stupidly carried them to Melbourne.

Many of you were given the privilege to read one of my exclusive articles where I mentioned that my wife and daughter were flying return KL/Melbourne with Malaysia Airlines this year (2018) because AirAsia tickets cost about the same during peak periods (Australia High School Holidays). I then “upgraded” my wife and daughter to Business Class using 90K Enrich Miles where I paid less compared to the standard method of upgrading a Malaysia Airlines Economy Smart ticket to Business Class using the same number of 90K Enrich Miles.

My wife and daughter flew into Melbourne in late January whereas I flew into Melbourne with my son just before Chinese New Year. Therefore, with 4 of us flying with Malaysia Airlines, we had more than 100kg allowance. When my wife returned to KL in December 2017, she had only 2 check in luggage. However, in January 2018, she had 4 check in luggage to bring to Melbourne. So she took 2 luggage in January and asked me to take the other 2. I had no idea what the heck my wife packed where the total weight for the 4 bags actually exceeded 100kg! My son and myself only needed to carry our backpacks that weighed less than 7kg. Woman thingy – “ma fan” (in Cantonese which means “give problems”) the men only.

So, basically AMC is a Multi Level Marketing Scheme!!! If you google AMC Cookware, you will find people who either loves it or hates it!!! However, the product must be pretty good as they have been operating for more than half a century or else the company would have been closed down long ago.

My Mum and Wife Covert Operation

My dad bought my mum her first AMC set more than 20 years ago. I can tell you this, the quality of AMC pots are really good. My mum’s AMC pots which were bought more than 20 years ago still looks new!!! However, sometime last year (2017) she traded in most of them to buy a complete new AMC system that uses the AMC Electric Hot Plate Navigenio which has bluetooth technology connected to the AMC Audiotherm which is fixed to the pot cover called Visiotherm. With this system, one just needs to set the cooking time and that’s it! Once the time is reached, the Audiotherm will “beep” and the Hot Plate Navigenio will switch off automatically.

It was only a few days after I returned to Melbourne that I saw my wife using AMC cookware and realized why she had so much stuff (weight) to bring to Melbourne. Prior to 2018, there were hardly any AMC cookware in my Melbourne apartment. But now, we have 6 AMC pots and a AMC Hot Plate Navigenio and lots of AMC accessories like knives, cutlery, mixing bowls, etc, which means she secretly packed them without informing me and made me bring those damn freaking heavy stainless steel AMC pots, covers, accessories and the hot plate to Melbourne!!! Hahahaha.

You see, my mum was so happy with her the AMC Cookware using the Navigenio Hot Plate System (which she bought in mid 2017) that she secretly bought another set for my wife in early January 2018 to bring to Melbourne without my dad’s and my knowledge. If my dad or I knew, surely we will object to it as it just gives us man unnecessary work, or we Hokkien people like to say  – Chiak Pa Siu Eng (too freaking free after meals, i.e. nothing better to do).

So, Is The AMC System Any Good?

However, I must admit that I am very happy with what my mum and wife did. Because, prior to 2018, my wife would cook using her Korean made  non-stick stone-coated wok and pans and the whole apartment would “stink”. But now, with the AMC cookware system, the apartment no longer stinks when my wife cooks the same stuff as she used to with the old wok previously. For example, prawn sambal.

My wife is a really hard working/diligent woman where she completed her 4 years USA Bachelor of Science in Economics (yes, you read correctly,  not Bachelor of Arts) degree in 2.5 years just so that she would graduate the same time as me completing my Masters Degree. Not only is she able to endure pressure, but also extremely intelligent where she graduated with a GPA of 3.99/4.0!!! On top of this, her being a 100% Nyonya, she is also a freaking fantastic good cook!

Therefore, with her new AMC Cookware System, she has been playing with it for the last 2 months or so. She told me that despite her attending the AMC demonstration, she still had lots of trials and errors using the AMC pots and hot plate with auto timing system. The system requires a lot of experimenting/playing around with to get the correct timing and satisfactory outcomes for the individual dishes.

CONCLUSION

Well, like the title implied, my wife’s AMC cookware system is like a toy. She will need to play with it (trial and error) for the next few months.

So why get the AMC Cookware System? How should I put it….. it is like me wearing my expensive Rolex or my new cheapo Citizen Eco-Drive where both do not need battery replacement and does the same job, i.e tells time. However, wearing a Rolex makes me shiok sendiri and also gives me some thrills wondering if I am safe wearing it walking around on the streets, hahaha.

So, with your wife cooking using the AMC cookware system, not only will she shiok sendiri knowing that the cookwares she is using are freaking expensive, but the food will taste better as she cooked it with full of love knowing that you bought the pots of of love for her 🙂

The AMC stainless steel pots, just like the Rolex stainless steel watches, are of very high quality and built to last. The moment you hold an AMC pot, you can feel just how heavy and solid it is.

Basically, if your wife already owns a Rolex or 1 Carat GIA Diamond or Chanel Bag and you have no idea what to get her, I guess you can get her the AMC Premium Cookware System. Even if she does not cook, it is still an item to have in your multi-million Ringgit Bungalow so that you do not lose face when someone asks if your wife has AMC cookware, hahaha.

Come to think of it, before you even buy your wife her first Rolex or Chanel handbag, you should first get her a complete set of the AMC Premium Cookware System. Only after she was proven through the years that she can make you happy utilizing the AMC cookware you bought, then only reward her with a Rolex or Chanel bag, hahahaha.

And worse come to worst, if your wife does not appreciate your love where you took the trouble to get her an AMC Cookware system, you can always give it to someone who will appreciates it (even after 10 years because those AMC Pots can last forever) or give it to someone to trade in for new pots (it has resale value) or even sell it as scrap metal because the stainless steel quality is freaking good!
