Venice Day 2
We woke up at 9am because we had no fixed program today. The breakfast provided by the hotel was pretty good.
Basically we just walked around San Marco and San Polo today.

St Mark’ Cathedral (Basilica San Marco)
The first thing we did for the day was went to San Marco Square again. First, we entered St Mark’s Church. Technically we are not allowed to take any photos BUT I must show you the inside is just as amazing as the outside marble fixtures and statues.
Below is a video showing 360 degree of San Marco Square:

The marble floor is just as impressive as the Golden Ceiling
St Mark’s Bell Tower
We also went up St Mark’s Bell Tower and the view from the top of the tower was just simply spectacular. And while we were up at the top, the bells actually rang!

Other Beautiful Sceneries and Interesting Stuff

Besides Grom Gelato, Amorino is another must try Gelato

We had dinner at one of the riverside restaurants on the left which is San Polo and to the right is San Marco where they are connected by Rialto Bridge

Dinner Beside Venice Grand Canal
We decided to have dinner beside Venice Grand Canal and simply walked into a restaurant which had a table right beside the river.
The food was pretty good and fast BUT the waiter asked me for a tip in addition to the 12% service charge on the bill! Usually most of the reputable restaurants in Italy, a EUR2 per pax service charge is included in the bill; and if you have observed the previous bills I posted, you will notice the EUR6 (for 3 pax). This is Europe not USA where it is a must to tip the waiter (becuase it will be reported as income by their employer).
When we checked TripAdvisor, the restaurant was ranked 500+ and therefore I was not surprised.

This was really good – grilled prawns

Note… 12% Service Fee and it is underlined Tips Not Included in the bill! It was the first time I have seen such a thing ever since I arrived in Italy.
To be continued…..
