Venice Day 3
Today we woke up at about 7am as we booked a tour of Murano, Burano and Torcello which are islands nearby.
Two days ago I did report that my hotel does provide a free tour to a Murano Glass Factory. My youngest daughter on the other hand only planned for us to go to Burano. Since we have come so far, I thought we should visit the 3 islands of Murano, Burano and Trocello; and it will be more convenient that we just go on a tour. The tour is about 4 hours plus and we booked the tour to start at 9am so that we will be back in San Marco for lunch.
Below are some photos taken from the boat I was in:
Murano
The first stop was to a Glass Making Factory in Murano where we were shown how a vase and horse was made. I kind of enjoyed the glass making demonstration.
We only had a few minutes to check out the island of Murano and I only managed to take a few photos.
Before I proceed to the next island of Burano, below are my previous reports:

Burano
Burano is famous for their lace and colorful houses. It also has a leaning tower!
Torcello
The only thing of interest in Torcello is a very old church.
After visiting the 3 islands only I understand why my daughter only planned for us to visit Burano.
Venice Free & Easy Again
We returned to visit just after 1pm. Below are some photos taken on the way back:
We decided to go to Burger King for chicken burgers. Since we arrived in Italy, we have yet to eat any chicken meat!
After lunch, we just walked around and eventually even reached the same train station when we first arrived in Venice; as reported earlier, we took the water bus to Rialto/San Marco where our hotel is located.
My daughter bought herself a small bag made in Italy, my wife bought souvenirs and myself a bottle of wine to bring to London because my uncle is meeting me there.

The train station is on the right

Special Venice Swatch. There is also a Rome Soecial in Rome.
Gondola Ride
My daughter wanted to experience the gondola ride so we when in one. For me it is nothing special becuase when I was young, I.had to take a “sampan” to my great grandpa house, haha. However I must say the gondola is like a luxury sampan and it was quite enjoyable.

This was Marco Polo’s Home!
For dinner I just had a pizza roll which cost me EUR5 (lunch time the price will be cheaper!) because I am fed up with pasta, Haha.
To be continued….
