Introduction
If you are my long time die hard follower, you will know that (1) Credit Card Issuers will reduce their card benefits over time and (2) Frequent Flyer Programs (FFP) will increase the points/miles required to redeem an air ticket over time too.
In respect to the above, time is of the essence and those who dilly dally will lose out but those who listened to me previously, especially My Air Miles Disciples who had faith in me and followed my instructions to the dot, have experience Singapore Airlines Suite Class which is beyond First Class.
Like I mentioned years ago, the opportunity to accumulate air miles for FREE to experience Singapore Airlines Suite Class was couple years before Covid in 2020 and eventually we will only be able to redeem for Business Class tickets or worst Economy Class tickets. Today, not only do we need to spend more to earn FREE Air Miles with our credit cards BUT we also need more FFP Points/Miles to redeem an air ticket.
In respect to the above, please differentiate between FREE Air Miles from thin air versus Buying Air Miles (which what most other people do and were taught pre-covid),
Previously, Maybank and Alliance Bank have revised their credit cards’ benefit and this time around it is UOB’s turn.
However, as most of you know, Maybank now imposes freaking ridiculous monthly air miles quota redemption for all their cardholders which make me pissed off big time where I must stay awake pass midnight on the first day of the month and sacrifice my beauty sleep…… Seriously, to be fairer, I think Maybank should instead limit redemption of of air miles for each cardholder per year instead of a general monthly quota for all cardholders. Having said this, those with Maybank Singapore Airlines KF Miles AMEX do not have any issues as far as earning/converting to air miles, BUT I no longer holds the Maybank KF AMEX since they stopped offering the bonus KF miles, haha.
The good news is for UOB, we still can convert our UNIRM to Air Miles any day of the month 🙂
UOB Credit Cards’ UNIRM Conversion To Air Miles Effective 23rd September 2024

Comments
I will only touch on 3 cards, i,e, PRVI Elite Miles, Visa Infinite and Privilege Banking Visa Infinite because the Zenith Elite MasterCard is not for the masses and the Metal Card got money also tough to get.
PRVI Miles Elite
Previously in my article titled UOB PRVI Miles Elite Card – Quick Review On One Of The Best Credit Card For Overseas Transactions (click here to read it), I mentioned that this said card is great for overseas transactions as it earns the cardholder 1 Air Mile for every RM0.90 spent.
Effective 23rd September 2024 the UOB PRVI Elite Miles will earn the cardholder 1 Air Mile for every RM1.20 spent – which means a 33.33% increase.
However, even with the revision, the PRVI Miles Elite is still better than Maybank Premier Visa Infinite as far as earning Air Miles is concerned for overseas transactions. For Local Transactions this card is useless!
UOB Visa Infinite
Well, Effective August 2024, the UOB Visa Infinite also earns 10X UNIRM like the PRVI Elite Miles and as such it also earns 1 Air Mile for every RM0.90 spent on Overseas Transactions.
However, the UOB VI has one major advantage over the PRVI Miles Elite. IF you do spent RM1K per month on dining, you will earn additional 4X UNIRM for dining withthe UOB VI.
Effective 23rd September 2024, the UOB VI conversion rate to Air Miles will be identical to PRVI Miles Elite.
UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite
Well, finally UOB have come to their senses and offer better benefits for the UOB PB VI versus UOB PRVI Miles Elite.
Effective 23rd September, those with UOB PB VI will earn 1 Air Mile for every RM1 spent overseas thus making it better than UOB VI and UOB PRVI Miles Elite.
And with the UOB PB VI, the card holders are entitled to Lounge Access Worldwide compared to UOB VI which only allow FREE Lounge Access in Asia Pacific.
Conclusion
For most of you, it will be either the UOB Visa Infinite or UOB PRVI Miles Elite. So which is better? Well, click here and read my article UOB Visa Infinite (Revised 15 Aug 2024) Versus UOB PRVI Miles Elite World MasterCard
In respect to the above said comparison between UOB VI versus UOB PRVI MILES Elite, I will just say that those who are not staying in the Klang Valley for FREE ride from KLIA, I would think you be better off with the UOB VI.
Of course there is a “hack” that is being shared in the internet about how to maximize converting your UNIRM from different UOB Credit Cards but I tell you it will be just a matter of time before UOB finds out about the “loop hole” and take remedial actions.
Anyway, do not dilly dally but go convert your UNIRM to Air Miles now!
Step 1 – Log In to your UOB TMRW App;
Step 2 – Tap on Reward+ at the bottom menu;
Step 3 – Tap on My Rewards;
