My Air Miles Disciple’s Malaysia Airlines Enrich Account Was Hacked This Last Week And All Her Enrich Points Were Transferred Out!

Today one of My Air Miles Disciple messaged me to inform that her Enrich Account has been emptied, i.e. all her Enrich Points gone!

According to her, she logged into her Enrich Account today and saw that ALL her Enrich Points were transferred out last week! In the Activities, it showed several transactions where her Enrich Points were deducted; however it also shown an “Error” message beside the transactions. She immediately called Enrich but was told to make an official complain via email which she did and now waiting for feedback.

She then told me maybe Malaysia Airlines “claw back” her Mid-Tier Booster Points but it did not make any sense as the Enrich Point deducted were more than 10K Enrich Points where as she only received a total of 5K (3K+2K) Enrich Points for Mid-Tier Booster.

I shared the above with My Air Miles Disciples at WhatsApp and one of them replied that after checking his account, he also received 2 transactions totaling 5K (2K+3K) Enrich Point for Mid-Tier Booster on 17th May 2025 and noticed that 2K Enrich Points were deducted on 3rd July 2025, almost 3 weeks later (?). Please refer to image below. The Bro reckoned maybe Malaysia Airlines “claw back” for the additional Mid-Tier Booster.

So I checked my Enrich Account and noted that I also received 5K (2K+3K) Enrich Points for Mid-Tier Booster but there was no “claw back” or any Enrich Points deducted with Error message (see image below). In other words, my Enrich Account has no issue. However, please note that my Mid-Tier Booster were credited on 14th May 2025 where as the above image shows the Bro’s Mid-Tier Booster was credited on 17th May 2025.

So coming back to the Sis who messaged me this morning where she noticed that all her Enrich Points have disappeared, was her account hacked or is there a bug with Malaysia Airlines’ system?

Luckily she only has less than 20K Enrich Points in her Enrich Account, therefore if her account was hacked also no big issue.

Well, with the Sis experience with Enrich, she told me she is not transferring anymore Enrich Points to her account, regardless if there is a Bonus offer or not, unless she wants to redeem a ticket using Enrich Points. And she said that it is safer and better that she concentrate on KrisFlyer Miles, hahaha.

Anyway, the Sis and Bro above also sent me a Facebook link where a lady’s Enrich Points were fraudulently used to redeem AEON vouchers (below image):

I also googled and below is what I found at Malaysia Airlines Facebook:

The above was posted on 26th June where the gentleman’s account was hacked and his Enrich Points were used to redeem for non-flight items.

It is very common nowadays that Airlines and even banks and hospital are hacked. Not too long ago Cathay Pacific system was hacked and recently Qantas too.

Qantas recent hack was a joke where a third party in Philippines Call Centre actually gave permission for the hacker permission to enter their system. Click here to read about it. Yah lah want to save money and outsource, hahaha.

So, if you have air miles, redeem lah and fly here and there. No point accumulating air miles when you tell yourself that you have no time! It is all about intention, no one else control your life except yourself.

And the most important thing is never save/remember your Credit Card in any system, i.e. airlines’ websites, Agoda, Trip.com, online shopping websites including Lazada and Shopee and even eWallets. If you are lazy and save your Credit Card number with a merchant or eWallet, if the merchant/eWallet is hacked, you only have yourself to be blamed. If you been warned.

Conclusion, if you have been reading all your Enrich emails, I guess you have nothing to worry about. However, if you never read emails from Enrich, you better go log in and check the Activities for your Enrich Account!
