When I was searching for a return flight from Melbourne to KL for this month (June 2019),  so happened I was able to redeem a Business Class flight out of Brisbane with substantial less air miles. So just like in the Tokyo case, if God wants me to go to Brisbane that is what I shall do 🙂

And since I am flying out of Brisbane, I took my wife to warmer Queensland and we stayed 3 nights in Surfers Paradise. Therefore giving my wife a break from the cold winter in Melbourne. Like I have been saying, everything happens for a reason, i.e. the opportunity to fly Business Class for FREE from Brisbane to Singapore is a blessing from God where my wife benefitted from it too.

I will be flying out of Brisbane with Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350. My previous experience on Singapore Airlines Business Class was on a Boeing 777, Melbourne to Singapore, and I was not impressed with the seat where I had to sleep “senget” (twisted/sideways). It’s the same for their Airbus 350 and 380 where we need to sleep senget too. But since this Business Class ticket was offered with LESS KrisFlyer Miles compared to normal Saver Option for Business Class and close to the miles required to redeem an Economy Class on Saver Option, I was willing to compromise.

Without further ado, I present to you Singapore Airlinee SilverKris Lounge Brisbane.

Singapore Airlines have 3 flights in and out of Brisbane daily! And that’s is why I guess they have their own lounge.

SilverKris Lounge Brisbane

To get to the SilverKris Lounge, head to Gate 81 and take the escalator up. We will first see Plaza Premium Lounge (click here to see photos of this said Plaza Premium Lounge at Brisbane taken by my mum when she flew out of Brisbane with Malaysia Airlines on Business Class last year).

Walk pass the PPL and turn right and you will reach SilverKris Lounge.

There are ample sitting places in the lounge.

 

Food & Drinks

The food selection is okay but Melbourne’s SilverKris Lounge is better.

As for the liquor, I was disappointed that they don’t offer Cognac, not even VSOP, unlike their other SilverKris Lounge in Melbourne and Changi (XO).

Shower Room

You will need to get the towel pack, shaver and toothbrush from the reception.

There are only 2 shower rooms in the lounge.

I did take a shower to freshen up as the journey to SG takes about 8 hours.

After my shower, I just took some light snack and a coffee.
