American Express Is Now Accepted at Shopee To Earn You Cash Back or Air Miles

On 26th November 2020, many of my followers were excited that Shopee has accepted the American Express as a form of payment.

Well, it is indeed excellent that we can use our AMEX to pay at Shopee and earn 5% cash back on weekends or air miles for practically any stuff at Shopee.

The timing could not have been any better. Because of the MCO, CMCO, RMCO, EMCO and now back to CMCO, many of us have not had the opportunity to burn money with our AMEX cards. Many of us have been using the two main Online Shopping Channels, i.e. Lazada and Shopee, to purchase essential stuff such as milk, diapers, groceries, seafood, durians, snacks, ice cream, soap, shampoo, smartphones and practically anything you want including underwear but both these said shopping sides and many others do not accept AMEX.

So with Shopee accepting AMEX, we can now utilize our Maybank AMEX to maximize earning 5% cash back or air miles.

Maybank 2 Gold/Platinum Cards American Express

With Shopee accepting AMEX, you can now earn 5% cash back on weekends with the Maybank 2 Cards Gold/Platinum for practically anything that you purchase at Shopee.

The Maybank 2 Gold/Platinum Cards AMEX was voted as the No.1 Cash Back Credit Card in Malaysia for 2021 by GenX GenY GenZ’s Readers. And many of them Shopee users must be delighted that they can now use it at Shopee to earn guaranteed 5% cash back on weekends.

And with Shopee now accepting AMEX, the Maybank 2 Cards AMEX Gold/Platinum has cemented its place as the best cash back credit card for 2021.

Maybank 2 Cards Premier

Many of us holding the Maybank 2 Cards Premier have been using our Maybank Visa Infinite to pay for purchases as Lazada and Shopee to earn 2X Treats Points, i.e. we earn 1 KrisFlyer or Asia Miles for every RM2.50 spent.

Now that we can use our Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX Reserve at Shopee, we can earn 1 KrisFlyer or Asia Miles for every RM1 spent everyday! And you may be able to save money too if you can collect a Maybank Cash Voucher.

And more importantly, since that we can purchase practically anything at Shopee including groceries and many essential stuff, with Shopee accepting AMEX, this will entice many to shop at Shopee and assist them to hit the RM80K spending and earning 1 air mile for every RM1 spent at the same time.

Conclusion and Comments

Now, many of the FREE Shipping vouchers at Shopee can only be used if you pay via Shopee Pay Wallet!!! And if you top up Shopee Pay with your Maybank credit cards, you will earn nothing!!!

In respect to the above, for small amount, it will be wiser that you use another non Maybank credit card to top up to Shopee Pay Wallet and earn something. Click here to find out the Best Credit Cards for Online Transactions including for Topping Up eWallets which includes Shopee Pay.

However, when you make a big purchase, the FREE Shipping may be negligible. For example, if the shipping fee is RM5 and you do not have a credit card that earns you anything for topping up Shopee Pay…….. by using the Maybank 2 Cards Gold/Platinum on weekends, you can earn RM40!!!

Another thing, I keep reiterating to my followers….. never save your credit cards details with any App or Merchant’s Website for paying anything and that includes at Shopee. Always key in your credit card number manually every time you want to pay…. you have been warned.

So with Shopee accepting AMEX now, you can expect people to switch from Lazada to Shopee for their daily needs.

Last but not least, please be informed that there are many scams involving Shopee, Lazada in addition to eWallets such as Boost and Big Pay. Never click on any links to see a promo but always visit the official website or App. And if you receive a WhatsApp message or call from Shopee or Lazada or Boost or Big Pay or any unsaved number in your phone, it is a scam!
