GenX’s Live Travel Report Kuala Lumpur To Melbourne with Malaysia Airlines Business Class On Airbus A330 Again April 2024

On-Board Malaysia Airlines Business Class Airbus A330

Below photos shows my seat

On the seat, you will find (1) Seat Cover and (2) Blanket. Most of the time I will have to put the seat cover myself but I remembered last year while I was flying Business Class to Brisbane with Singapore Airlines, the In-light Manager personally put the seat cover for me.

Below photo of the middle row:

The blue coloured Business Class seats look dated BUT I tell you it is much more comfortable compared to Singapore Airlines Business Class Diamond Seats (name nice but we need to sleep senget) on the Boeing 777 or Airbus A380 and one Bro said he felt like as if he was in a coffin when he flew with Singapore Airlines 787, hahahah.

Another thing I like about Malaysia Airlines A330 Biz Class is that there is a side compartment which allows me to store my Coach Academy Sling Bag.

My sling bad can fit into the side storage and close the “door” for secured taking off and landing

After take off, the In-Flight Manager will announce that we get FREE Wifi including Economy Class passengers!!! This is really good. FREE Is The Best!

So as usual, I will use my Android smartphone to try to connect to MH Connect. But as usual it will state “Connected Without Internet”. Most of the time I will not be bothered with the FREE WiFi and I would be sleeping on the plane after makan. But this time it was a morning flight and I haven’t had any alcohol, haha. The In-Flight Supervisor was serving coffee or tea and he asked if I could connect to the Internet and I said No. So he said he was not familiar with Android and will get someone to help me…. then a Stewardess came to assist me and it was really simple….

Step 1 – And your Android Homepage, tap of the Google Bar.

Step 2 – Key in 1.1.1.1 and tap Search Icon

Then just follow the instructions….

After serving coffee or tea, the Main Meal was served. Like I said, I pre-booked Nasi Lemak. Actually the Nasi Lemak is one of the meals available on-board but I kiasu and pre-booked it so that I will be 101% served Nasi Lemak.

And I had the Nasi Lemak with Shiraz…. yes I know odd combination, hahaha. But to me the Australian Shiraz is the only red wine I enjoy on MAS flights. *In my previous Live Travel Reports I have shown the other red wines available of MAS Biz Class.

Side note – a lady told me she can’t consume Australian red wines because it contains Sulphites. So next time you are going to enjoy a bottle of Australian red wine, look at the label and you may be surprised that it may state – refined with egg white and/or milk and/of fish!

After I had my Nasi Lemak and Shiraz, it was time for my beauty sleep…. and once again we get to sleep straight on MAS flights unlike on SIA Diamond Seats.

For the morning flight departing from KLIA, Satay will be served about 2 hour before landing.

This time I had a Otard Gold XO cognac.

But I was still hungry after having 3 sticks of Chicken Satay so I ordered their Classic Egg Noddle which is basically Maggi Instant Noddle but presented in a ceramic bowl and garnished with prawns, vegetables and fish balls.

And they served Haagen-Dazs ice-cream before landing too.

UBER RIDE

In Australia you can either use UBER or DiDi but for Melbourne Airport to the City I will just use UBER because there is an UBER Pick-up Lane just outside the doors…. and this time I was shocked because the ride cost me less than AUD40! Usually the ride from the Airport to the City will cost me more than AUD45, closer or more than AUD50.

Side note – if you have a baby or toddler, you can’t take ride-sharing but Taxi or Bus. Google and do your research but it you ask me don’t be bothered to take them because they cannot remember the trip!

Conclusion

As I mentioned previously, the only advantage flying with Malaysia Airlines is – for those residing in Klang Valley, we can fly direct to our destinations. If you are departing from Penang or Kuantan or East Malaysia, you still need to waste time transiting.

Other than the above, we actually need more air miles (Enrich Points) for Malaysia Airlines Business Class compared to Singapore Airlines Business Class to the same destination.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles Versus Malaysia Airlines Enrich Points Review 2024

and

Malaysia Airlines Enrich Saver April 2024

In respect to the so called Enrich Saver Promotions KL to London and Melbourne, yes we currently (April 2024) can get Business Class Enrich Saver for 100K and 75K Enrich Points respectively; BUT somehow I cannot find any Enrich Saver requiring 100K or 75K Enrich Points London to KL and Melbourne to KL respectively! Actually when I search London or Melbourne to KL with Malaysia Airlines Business Class, I get absurd rates! You go play play and you will agree with me again that Malaysia Airlines Enrich Points are ridiculous hahaha.

For my case, I am blessed to accumulate many different air miles, not only from different credit cards but I play several Frequent Flyer Programs and have miles on standby so that I can get a flight to anywhere I want.
