Earn Enrich Points With Singapore Airlines Flights or Use Your Enrich To Redeem a Singapore Airlines Ticket

I guess I should should touch on the email from Malaysia Airlines Enrich.

Below is the MINIMUM Enrich Points Required FROM Singapore.

Once again, it is stated MINIMUM Enrich Points and you are redeeming a ticket departing and/or arriving in Singapore!!! Which means you may need to fork out additional money to get to or from Singapore, e.g. you are residing in KL.

And you cannot redeem online or know exactly how many Enrich Points are required until you call Enrich!

As for earning Enrich Points when you are purchasing a ticket with Singapore Airlines, I guess the following paragraphs are self-explanatory.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES ENRICH POINTS versus SINGAPORE AIRLINES KRISFLYER MILES

Case 1 – Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul

From the above, with KrisFlyer SAVER Option we only need 56,500 KrisFlyer Miles for a one-way Business Class ticket KUL to/from IST versus minimum Enrich Points 112K!!!

Even KrisFlyer ADVANTAGE Option requiring 103,500 KrisFlyer Miles is less than Enrich Points minimum 112K!!!

Wait…… Enrich we are departing from Singapore whereas with KrisFlyer we can depart from KL or Penang with less air miles!

Well Malaysia Airlines do not fly to Istanbul, so if you only have Enrich Points, it serves you right for not listening to me to accumulate KrisFlyer Miles, hahahahaha.

Case 2 – Kuala Lumpur ro Europe

In the above table,you will note that you may only need 108K Enrich Points to redeem a Business Class ticket KUL to LHR (London Heathrow). So if you are going to London why would you want to use 150K Enrich Points to redeem a Singapore Airlines Biz Class ticket departing from Singapore?

On the other hand, if you are going to Copenhagen or Zurich, then maybe you would consider using your Enrich Points for the Singapore Airlines Biz Class ticket.

However, we only need 103,500 and 123,000 KrisFlyer Miles for the SAVER and ADVANTAGE tickets respectively with KrisFlyer departing from KL versus Enrich Points minimum 150K which departs from Singapore!

If you ask me, I will say use your Enrich Points to fly to either London or Paris on Malaysia Airlines Biz Class and from there fly Economy to anywhere in Europe ; thus you save about 40K Enrich Points compared to using your Enrich Points for a Singapore Airlines’ flight on Biz Class to Europe.

CONCLUSION

For those who are only accumulating Enrich Points, I guess it is good that they have the option to use their Enrich Points to selected Singapore Airlines’ destinations which Malaysia Airlines do not fly too.

However once again I have proven to you that you should be collecting KrisFlyer Miles as we need less KrisFlyer Miles compared to Enrich Points to most (not all) destinations.

Moreover, KrisFlyer has Spontaneous Escape where you may find a fantastic deals; BUT most important of all is KrisFlyer Miles allows you to experience Suite Class which is beyond First Class 🙂

So Bros and Sis, do not be stubborn but get the Maybank Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Platinum AMEX (once again I am stupidly promoting for Maybank for FREE) if you are earning less than RM200K p.a. because this said card earns you KrisFlyer Miles everyday from your essential expenses (petrol, groceries, TNB, Shopee, Lazada, Grab and etc) plus for transactions relating to luxury brands, Agoda for hotels, jewellery, departmental stores and etc. And best of all you do not need to waste your time on the 1st of the month to redeem air miles with Maybank Treats Points as the KrisFlyer Miles will automatically be credited into your KrisFlyer Account.

Tip if you yet to hold the Maybank Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Platinium AMEX – make sure you fill in your KrisFlyer Account number in the application form!
