Based on the above table, if you can spend RM3K per month AND satisfy each category spending requirement, you can earn up to RM110 per month which works out to be 3.66%!!!

Also note in order to earn a single sen in cash back, one must spend minimum RM1000.

So assuming you do spend RM500 for eWallet/Online, RM250 for Utilities and RM250 for Petrol, the cash back you earn is only RM15 0r 1.5% cash back!!!

if say you do spend RM250, RM2500 and RM250 for Petrol, Online and Utilities respectively, you will get total RM50 in cash back.

However, if you can spend RM250, RM1500, RM250 and RM1000 for Petrol. Online, TNB and Overseas respectively, then you will earn RM100 or effectively 3.33% cash back.

when I clicked on the link above and read the eligible MCC code under utilities, I got a shocked!

Computer Network, Cable and Satellite and Radio services are considered utilities! Interestingly, RHB did not include Water, IWK and Gas as utilities!!! The people and management personel at RHB need to be educated more…. and they can start by googling!

I tell you, better you use Maybank 2 Cards Gold or Platinum AMEX to pay your TELCOs (DiGi, Celcom, Maxis and Telekom), Astro, Broadband (Unifi), Water and IWK at Lazada and earn guaranteed 5% cash back.
