For years I have been stupidly promoting Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX Reserve plus Visa Infinite to earn Air Miles until the last month of 2023. Then in April 2024, Maybank credit cards earning Treats Points become the worst for air miles as we can only redeem once a month and that’s if you are lucky!
I even produced a video to tell all not to be bothered with Maybank Credit Cards that earn you Treats Points but Maybank Cash Back Credit Cards are still good.

Then for some people they may hold the American Express Charge Card Platinum which was consistently in my Top 10 Credit Cards when I produced my annual review years ago. Despite the AMEX Platinum Charge Card being one of the most prestigious card in Malaysia (because we must pay in full monthly prior to Due Date and therefore not for people who are in debt), it is still subjected to the damn 100,000,000 air miles quota set by Maybank.
I hereby appeal to and beg American Express HQ to instruct Maybank to remove Maybank’s absurd condition where we can only redeem our MR for Air Miles once a month and that is if we are lucky! American Express HQ should maintain some standard and prestige for their Metal Platinum Charge Card! The Malaysia issued Metal Platinum Charge Card is ridiculous (worst than most entry level credit card) if we are not guaranteed that we can convert our MR to Air Miles anytime we want!
It is a fact that Maybank Premier Credit Cards Customer Service is second none until Maybank started imposing the freaking absurd 100,000,000 Monthly Air Miles quota back in 2024 where the CS (that is if you managed to get your call through and speak to a human during the first hour of each starting day of the month) can’t do much assisting us to convert our Maybank Treats Points to Air Miles including for the AMEX Platinum Charged Card!
As I mentioned in my article back in 2024, 100,000,000 Air Miles monthly quota is a joke. Do you know how many people are holding Maybank cards?
In the above said mentioned page, I gave a link where we were informed that Maybank has about 2 million cardholders!
In the same link below I even gave few Cases as to how many people will be able to redeem the so called joke of 100,000,000 air miles.
For Examples Case 3:
Case 3 – Assuming that 1000 people redeemed 30K Enrich Points per pax in order to fly to London on Economy and another 1000 people redeemed 56,700 KrisFlyer Miles to fly Biz Class to Europe with Spontaneous Escapes; how many people can redeem 100K KrisFlyer Miles in order to redeem First Class with Singapore Airlines to Australia?
Answer: Only 133 blessed people will have the opportunity to redeem 100K KrisFlyer Miles, haha.
So for months I have been pissed off big time with Maybank for disrupting my beauty sleep where I had to stay up pass midnight on the 1st day of the month. Same case for 1st January 2025, I had to wait till 12.30am for Maybank to reset to 100,000,000 Air Miles quota; but since everyone was trying to access Maybank Treats Points website, it was no surprise that Maybank system could not handle the sudden surge and I kept getting error messages. When I finally got to the air miles redemption page after like wasting my previous short time on planet earth, I selected the wrong KrisFlyer redemption (i.e. 500 KF Miles for 10K TP – you know lah I am half blind) and had to redo the entire process again to select the correct redemption and by the time I keyed in the OTP the redemption habis!!! WTF!!!
In respect to the above said experience, I wasted my precious short time on planet earth on something that was not fruitful but in actual fact gave me stress in addition to me sacrificing my beauty sleep!
I don’t need the shit above from Maybank! Maybank is really absurd but then again it is not Maybank’s fault but the Board of Directors of Maybank and the keh khaing person who came up with the stupid ridiculous idea making me and many others suffer for nothing – the keh khiang person will be punished by the universe later for making other innocent souls suffer!
At least CIMB is not as ridiculous as Maybank but make us redeem air miles in 5K batches anytime we want. UOB is the best where we can redeem 1K air miles anytime we want!
Yes, if you ask me today, I will say that UOB is the best for redeeming KirsFlyer and Asia Miles.
I will now tell you what credit cards you should be holding if you do not want to be controlled by Maybank!
For Local Spending including Petrol, the Maybank Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer American Express® Platinum Credit Card is freaking good. Yes it from Maybank with a BIG difference where you do not need to wait until 1st of every month to redeem KrisFlyer Miles because whatever KrisFlyer Miles you earn with the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer American Express® Platinum Credit Card will be automatically credited into your KrisFlyer Miles Account monthly!
I just want to tell you this, a Bro told me that if one’s Statement Date falls on 29th or 30th or 31st, better change it to 28th of the month because on certain years there is no 29th of February and certain months there is no 31st!!! As such one may face some issues with the KrisFlyer Miles they earned being credited into their KrisFlyer Account.
If you have substantial Overseas Spending, you should consider UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite or the Visa Infinite or PRVI Elite Miles. The UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite is also pretty good for dining if you spend above RM1K per month as you will then earn 1 KrisFlyer for every RM2 spent.
