INTRODUCTION
First and foremost, I am not a qualified Financial Advisor/Consultant, therefore I am not telling you to buy or sell any assets. My articles are produced from my personal observations for you to educate yourself or just to waste time reading them.
If you have no money it means most probably you have not been living within your means (and in the bottomless shit hole of debts by using 0% Installment Plans or 9 years car loan or worst have a Personal Loan or learned nothing from your grandparents or parents). In Malaysia, luckily there is AKPK – AKPK’s Debt Management Programme is a free service by Malaysia’s central bank that restructures your unsecured debts into one monthly payment. AKPK negotiates with your banks to lower interest rates and extend repayment terms (in Italic from google).
Before I proceed, set your priorities to pay off your essential bills, i.e. utilities, rent and groceries. Terminate all your Subscription plans (e.g. Netflix and antivirus) and no more installment plans (e.g. RM199 per month for an iPhone Pro or Shopee SPay Later 3 or 6 months installment plans).
Oh before I forget, with Alliance Virtual Card, you can create many virtual credit cards with specific maximum amount or duration which is excellent to activate your Antivirus for example.

MY ARTICLES ON GOLD HAVE BENEFITED THOSE WHO UNDERSTOOD THE CODED MESSAGES
For more than a decade I have been periodically producing articles related to gold and many people have thanked me for them.
Click here to read I Have Been Showing You All, My Long Time Die Hard Followers, To Get Gold Ever Since I Started Blogging.
In this said article titled Burning Away Fixed Deposits and Earning FREE Gold Bars with Credit Cards, I taught those who understood the coded messages to use their Credit Cards’ Rewards Points to exchange for FREE Gold Bars.
In respect to the above said method to get FREE Gold Bars, today it is not worthwhile to convert our credit cards’ Reward Points to Cash Vouchers as we would be getting less than 1% returns!
Recently, a Bro, who have faith in me and have joined all my Projects (Air Miles, Cash Back, Love & Gratitude and Health) sent me an image where he bought 2x10g Gold Bars back in 2018 for RM2K each. RM2K for 10g!!! Today a 10g Gold Bar would cost close or more than RM6K!!! 300% increase in 8 years its not bad right. He told me he was brainwashed into buying gold and giving silver as gifts too 🙂
Today, in order to get meaningful returns, we only convert our Credit Cards; Rewards Points to Air Miles AND at the same time play Cash Back Credit Cards to earn FREE Money! Of course you must hold the right credit cards based on your spending pattern and I have produced many articles to teach those who are blur on how to optimize.
For those playing Cash Back Credit Cards, if you had followed my instructions in my article titled GenX’s Simple Engineered Hack To See You Wealth Grow With Cash Back Credit Cards, today you would have easily more than a couple thousands Ringgit in your dedicated Savings Account – cold hard cash you can feel. Many fools who record down what they earned on Excel only get “Shiok Sendiri” sensations, hahaha – because they have burned what they earned since the Cash Back is instantly used to offset their credit cards’ bills.
Today I am going tell you, my long time faithful die hard followers, who are Cash Back Fans – use the Cash Back money earned to buy gold!!! Instead of transferring money equivalent to cash back you earned into your dedicated Savings Account, what you should do is use the money to purchase gold at Maybank Gold Savings Account -i (make sure is the Islamic Gold Savings Account where you only need RM10 to buy gold!!!). Don’t be calculative or worry that gold price will drop, it is FREE Money so be grateful for the gold you have been blessed by the universe (yes gold is form in the universe and not on earth).
In respect to the above, if you prefer Physical Gold, which you should have too at all times, you can also use the Cash Back Money earned to buy 1g of gold at Shopee on Pay Day or 2.2, 3.3, …….. 11.11 & 12.12. And if you play and observe, you will note that Habib and Masdora 1g gold price is very very good on Pay Day and X.X Day at Shopee. Use your cash back credit card, e.g. Maybank Islamic Ikhwan AMEX Platinum to reduced the effective price of the 1g gold you are buying. And if you are like me where I have nothing better to do but collect Shopee Coins daily, you should have another RM30 to deduct from the purchase price of the 1 g gold bar from Habib or Masdora.
And today, we can get 5g gold bar from Habib at Shopee for RM2833.10!!! This price is very “cheap” compared to 5g gold bars you can purchase at physical shops with our American Express card!
And for years I have said to give gold as gifts instead of Ang Pow. Click here to read Where To Buy Gold Affordable Gold As Gifts – Birthdays, Weddings, Full Moon, etc and Best Wife Too.

GOLD DOES NOT PAY INTEREST
I am sure you have heard from a non-gold bug mentioning that gold does not pay interest and is a lousy investment.
In respect to the above, the person is correct saying that gold does not pay interest but that is all.
- He/she failed to tell you that gold is scarce and was formed in space from a supernova event.
- He/she failed to tell you that Fiat Money can be printed anytime and loses purchasing power over time!
- And most probably that person never watched Ancient Chinese Dramas where GOLD and SILVER were MONEY! See the Ancient Gold and Silver ingots at the above Featured Image for this post?
- Maybe also that person was not told by his/her grandparents who have experienced war the importance of having physical gold.
- He/she did not tell you that gold can be converted to cash anywhere on earth to whatever currencies.
- Buying Physical Gold is a method of wealth preservation to pass to our next generation (then again today many young people do not want to have children). Gold last forever and can be easily moved.
- If any one tells you having physical gold is risky, well I guess he should also tell you that parking money in the bank is also not 100% safe as the bank may collapse (PIDM is there for a purpose) or our Ringgit may weaken. As for properties, it also has risk… I can tell you many factors why investing in properties is not necessarily risk free but I will just say that birth rate has been reducing and a property is not liquid (get cancer going to die also may not get to convert the property to cash in time to enjoy);
Coming back to Fiat Money losing Purchasing Power. I have an example in my article on How To Buy Silver (link above). The other day I was also showing my project members on how much our Fiat Money has lost its’ value…..
When I started working in 1991, my first salary was RM1.5K per month. We will assume gold was RM30 per gram in 1991 (you can google). This means I was paid equivalent 50 grams of gold per month. Convert the 50g to today’s gold price of say RM550 per gram, that means I was earning RM27,500 per month today’s money as a Fresh Graduate!!! How much is a Fresh Graduate earning today? Point is Fiat Money loses its value and purchasing power with time. We have been conned into believing Fiat Money is good but in actual fact we should have been paid in gold which holds its value over time. And recently President Donald Trump said that inflation will assist the US to pay of their USD40Trillion+ debt!!!
So in respect to the above, I suppose the smart ones have been buying gold occasionally to preserve their wealth.
MALAYSIA GOVERNMENT IS TELLING YOU INDIRECTLY TO BUY GOLD
Google and you would know the last time the Malaysia Government bought gold was in January 2026 when gold was at the high!!! Well since the war in the Middle East started, our government has been short of cash and I guess that is why they have not been buying gold since then. But the Malaysia Government must really have someone smart advising them because effective 1st November 2026, small gold bars are no longer taxed!!! Indirectly telling the Rakyat to buy gold!!!
Click here to read an article at The Star by Charles Ramendran Sunday, 04 Oct 2026 – Gold bars get a tax break
I strongly recommend you read the above article which was sent to me by a Bro.
Below are some parts from the article:
Malaysians who buy small gold bars as a way to save for the future can expect some relief when the 10% import duty on 999.9 minted gold bars is removed from Nov 1.
He said small-denomination minted gold bars ranging from 1g to 50g had become increasingly popular among young working adults and B40 and M40 households as an accessible means of saving and preserving wealth.
In respect to the above, it is true the many MA40 and B40 buy gold as they are smart. The stand alone gold smith shop along a main street that I do visit, it is generally like a market full of people every day!!! Not like Poh Kong or Tomei where most of the time you see the shops are empty at the malls on weekdays during office hours.
The exemption would help reduce import costs, support more reasonable retail prices, encourage saving and wealth preservation
Effective next month, the Customs Duties (Amendment) Order 2026 cuts the duty on minted gold bars to 0% from 10%.
He highlighted the importance of imported minted gold as a financial instrument.
“Imported minted gold is a crucial asset, especially for people who carry it as a financial instrument while travelling.
“It is widely accepted internationally, while local minted gold may not receive the same recognition overseas,” he added. – This paragraph may not be accurate. Gold is gold and most Bullion Stores have Light Gun to determine the purity of gold. Nobody cares what minted gold you have bought but what is the weight of the 999 gold you selling.
CONCLUSION
Once again, priority is to pay all your bills and be debt free. Never borrow money for investment in anything. However for my case, if I have spare cash not required for survival, I will buy gold as a method of wealth preservation, of course it is not the only method. EPF is good too as of today (don’t know about the future as there should be less people contributing with the lower birth rate and more people going into Gig Economy). Whatever it is , we were taught when we were kids that never put all your eggs in one basket and that includes gold where you should have both online and physical gold.
A friend told me that a gold smith at the mall told him that a customer has been buying 1g of gold for his son since he was born and until 18 years old. Well I will say he was smart. Why? Because gold price may drop or in a bear market for years but eventually the price will go to the moon, and then to Mars and then to the rim of our universe simply because Fiat Money loses its purchasing power with time.
In respect to the above paragraph, I am not telling you to buy gold for your son but history have shown that buying gold as a wealth preservation is the smart thing to do and those of us who have been taught by our grandparents and followed their footsteps have been doing the right thing for years. And if you have not been taught by your parents or grandparents to buy gold, well yours truly and now the government of Malaysia plus Charles Ramendran just taught you how you can preserve your wealth, hahahahaha.
