I tell you, read your emails! Last week I received an email from KrisFlyer below:
So at the above said email, I click on Scoot Award Chart:

From the above Award Chart, we only need 1500 KrisFlyer Miles with the Saver Option to redeem a Scoot ticket KUL (Zone 2) to SIN (Zone 1) and vice=versa!!!
Then I checked for KUL (Zone 2) to Melbourne (Zone 15) and was pleasantly surprised that I only need 14K KrisFlyer Miles!

Comparison between Scoot versus Singapore Airlines verus Enrich Points versus AirAsia Points to redeem for an Economy Class ticket Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne.
SCOOT versus Singapore Airlines
The KrisFlyer Miles required to redeem an Economy Class ticket Malaysia (Zone 2 and 3) to Melbourne/Sydney is 14K and 27.5K for the Saver and Advantage option respectively.
The Scoot Saver option is really fantastic as we need less than half of the KrisFlyer Miles required to redeem an Economy Class Saver Option with Singapore Airlines!
However, if you ask me, better you redeem a Singapore Airlines Saver Option compared to Scoot Advantage because the difference is only 3K KrisFlyer Miles and when we book with Scoot we need to pay for Luggage and Meals and etc.
Enrich Points
We need 25,000 Enrich Points to redeem an Economy Saver ticket from Malaysia to Melbourne/Sydney. It is more than 10K compared to Scoot 14K.
If you are flying direct from KUL to Melbourne or Sydney, then I will say that it may be more convenient and relaxing to fly direct with Malaysia Airlines. However, if you are transiting at KUL, what is the difference of you transiting in Changi?
AirAsia
I do not convert my Credit Card Rewards Points to AirAsia Points to redeem flight with AirAsia KUL to MEL because I will need close to 80K AirAsia Points to redeem a flight ticket that cost RM800 KUL to MEL!
Below is the summary of the above said matters:

Flight KUL to MEL in April 2026
I intend to fly to Melbourne between 9th to 15th April 2026 and return to KL in the first week of May.
Well, I have managed to redeem Biz Class tickets Melbourne to KL in May 2026 for my wife and I; however, I cannot yet get to redeem any Business Class ticket KUL to MEL in April 2026.
In respect to the above, I have no ticket to Melbourne but I am flying back to KL on Biz Class, hahaha.
During the above said period, I cannot get to redeem a Biz Class Saver with either Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines as it is Peak Period for Australia as they are having their Easter Break. As for Economy, the Enrich Points required to Melbourne is ridiculous but I can get Saver Option with Singapore Airlines for 30,500 KrisFlyer Miles. See below image for Enrich Points:

No way am I going to use 60K+ Enrich Points for an Economy Class KL to Melbourne as I can easily get a Singapore Airlines Economy Class using 30,500 KrisFlyer Miles! Fact is KrisFlyer is better here, hahaha.
The other plus point of flying with Scoot is that we can purchase liquor and beauty products from KrisShop and have them delivered In-Flight. Those of you who read my KrisShop aritlces and also Friends at my Personal FB will know we can get really freaking good deals at KrisShop.
My flight KUL to MEL in April 2026
So I Log In to Scoot using my KrisFlyer Account at my Browser…. damn lag…. I had to wait a while before the Redeem Flight Option comes out for me to select it.
Anyway I am so freaking happy that I can redeem 2 Economy Class tickets with Scoot between 9th to 15th April 2026 KL to Melbourne for only 14K KrisFlyer Miles per pax.
Next I had to Select Fare category. I selected the RM0 option as we only usually carry one Check-In Baggage:
Next I selected the weight of ONE Check-In Baggage 25kg + Seats + Meals:
And the total fare for 2 pax based on my selection came up to RM993.34 plus 28K KrisFlyer Miles.
Then my wife asked me how much it would cost to fly with AirAsia, which is so much convenient for us as it is a direct flight from KL to Melbourne.
Well the cheapest price for the dates I wanted was RM799 per pax.
Then when it came to Add Ons- I was once again pleasantly surprised that Premium Flat Bed for 2 pax final total cost is only RM6130.40 or about RM3K per pax!!! Since I cannot redeem any Biz Class Saver Options with Singapore Airlines or Malaysia Airlines, I paid for the AirAsia Premium Flat Bed for my wife and I π

And of course I used my Amex to pay for the Premium Flat Bed to earn more KrisFlyer Air Miles, hahaha.
CONCLUSION
The Scoot Award Chart is good:
- If you can redeem Scoot Saver Option.
- If you only have the Advantage Option with Scoot, check if Singapore Airlines has Saver Option. I recommend you chose Singapore Airlines Saver Option anytime over Scoot’s Advantage Option.
- If you are departing from KLIA and cannot get a Malaysia Airlines Economy Saver Option, then you can consider item 1 and 2 above.
- Always check AirAsia Premium Flat Bed price and you may get a pretty good deal!
Previously I have produced an article that we all of us can experience Business Class Flat Bed when we fly with AirAsia.
