Bonus Enrich Points Promotion

As most of you know, Malaysia Airlines offers twice a year promotion for Bonus Enrich Points, early and mid of the year. Well this mid year, the Bonus Enrich Points starts on 8th July 2026.

The Bonus Enrich Points Promotion is excellent for those of us holding Alliance Virtual Card which allows us to convert our TBP (Three Years Bonus Points) to Enrich Points. All you need to do is call Alliance Bank Customer Service to convert your TBP to Enrich Points on 8th to 10th July 2026 to earn 20% EXTRA Enrich Points.

Starting from 11th July 2026 until 18th August 2026, we will be earning extra 10% Bonus Enrich Points when we convert our credit card reward points. Well, good, at least we have 2 billing cycles to convert our credit cards’ points to Enrich Points.

One Reason Why Enrich Points Is “Useless”

For credit cards from say Maybank or UOB, we can convert our credit cards’ reward points to KrisFlyer and Asia Miles too! And for years I have been telling you that Enrich Points are “useless”; however unless you are My Air Miles Disciple, you may not know why I said so.

Well today I will show you one reason (not the main reason but one of the many reasons) why Enrich Points are useless! And the reason is we need more Enrich Points to redeem a Malaysia Airlines Biz Class ticket compared to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles!!!

As you all should know, both Malaysia Airlines and Cathay Pacific are One World partners, which means we can use Enrich Points or Asia Miles to redeem Biz Class tickets with various airlines under the One World umbrella.

Example No.1

To redeem a Malaysia Airlines Biz Class KUL to MEL, we need 75K Enrich Points.

On the other hand, we only need 63K Asia Miles to redeem the same Malaysia Airlines Biz Class ticket!!!

So say we wait till we get the 20% Bonus Enrich Points Promotion to convert our credit cards’ reward points to 63K Enrich Points, with the 20% Bonus, we will get effectively 75.6K Enrich Points.

What the above means is – we can convert our credit card’s reward points to Asia Miles anytime and redeem a Malaysia Airlines Biz Class ticket without needing to wait for the 20% Bonus Enrich points Promotion!

However, to be fair, sometimes Malaysia Airlines does have 15% or 20% Discount for redeeming Biz Class tickets using Enrich Points, in this instance then yes the Enrich Points may be as good as Asia Miles. But I am a “kiasu” person, I do not wait till there is a promo to book a ticket with 15% Enrich Discount as it is not guaranteed that there will be seat for Saver Enrich Biz Class tickets.

Example No.2 – really shows you how useless Enrich Points are for redeeming Biz Class tickets.

From the above image, you will note that you need 102.5K Enrich Points to redeem a Biz Class Enrich Saver ticket on Malaysia Airlines KLIA to Brisbane whereas Asia Miles you only need 63K for the same Biz Class ticket!!!

Therefore even with the 20% Bonus Enrich Points, it still does not make sense why a person would rather use more air miles (in this case Enrich Points) when he/she can use less (with Asia Miles). It is like a not too smart (okaylah stupid is a better word) person paying more for the same item when he/she has the choice to pay less.

But like I said from the start, this article is for my long time die hard air miles followers who know when and how to redeem Biz Class tickets using various Frequent Flyer Programs. If one is new to air miles, most person will be complaining why it is so hard to redeem a Biz Class ticket with KrisFlyer Miles or Asia Miles and why the heck one needs ridiculous Enrich Points?

Then again, I have a Bro who messaged meto inform that he is stuck with Avios, hahaha. This said Bro is not My Air Miles Disciple and have not been tutored by yours truly. On the other hand, one of My Air Miles Disciple does play Avios and he flies to all 4 corners of the world. I myself does not play Avios because I play Asia Miles simply because it is easier to get a Biz Class Cathay Pacific flight to Europe or USA.

Oh I must clarify the above paragraph, it may be easy to redeem a BA Biz Class but many who experienced BA Biz Class or even BA First Class told me that they are not happy with the in-flight service and will avoid BA if they have the choice. My youngest daughter did experienced BA Biz Class SIN to MEL and she had the worst ever service on board or more correctly no service.

Generally Malaysia Airlines Biz Class service is pretty good compared to before Covid but I can tell you Singapore Airlines service is the best. Emirates if there are Asian Stewardess, generally the service is very good if you are flying Biz or First Class.

And there are other reasons why I do not promote Enrich Points but instead promote KrisFlyer for Local Spending. One of the reason is we can earn unlimited KrisFlyers and Singapore Airlines flies to more countries than Malaysia Airlines.

All of us can only earn Enrich Points with our Alliance and Hong Leong Bank credit cards, therefore I do teach My Air Miles Disciples to play all three FFP, i.e. Enrich Points, KrisFlyer and Cathay Pacific which in turn allows us to redeem with many airlines who are part of Star Alliance and One World. Therefore, My Air Miles Disciples and I are sure to get a ticket to anywhere on earth anytime as we think out of the box 🙂

So for those of you who know how to play Asia Miles, we will get extra 10% Bonus Asia Miles when we convert or credit cards’ reward points before 31st July 2026!!!

As usual please follow the instructions in the above said link. It is imperative that you REGISTER first for the promo before you convert your credit cards’ reward points to Asia Miles. The 10% Bonus Asia Miles will only be credited into your Asia Miles Account in August after the promotion has ended,

Also as usual read the TnC to check if there is a quota. Do not assume anything. I keep reiterating Time Is Of The Essence. This promo is excellent as I have shown you above that we need less Asia Miles to redeem a Malaysia Airlines Business Class ticket compared to Enrich Points.

Redeeming Air Miles for Economy Class Tickets

For the benefit of those of you who are new to my blog and thinking of playing air miles. I will not waste your time but teach you straight away that it is damn stupid to use your air miles to redeem for Economy Class ticket. Because when you redeem an Economy Class ticket, most probably the 1 air mile is worth RM0.03 or less!!!

In respect to the above, lets say you earn 1 air mile for every RM1.875 spend (Alliance Virtual Credit Card). With 1 air mile being worth 3 sen, you are getting equivalent 1.6% cash back. Isn’t it not better that you play Cash Back Credit Cards? Even with 3% Cash Back you will be earning close to 100% more!!!

Having said the above, sometimes we do get really good promo for Economy Class PROMO ticket (where we need less Enrich Points compared to an Enrich Saver) or even KrisFlyer Miles (Spontaneous Escape). Example, generally we need about 25K Enrich Point for a Saver Enrich Ticket MEL to KUL but sometimes we can get Enrich Promo ticket with 19K Enrich Points.

I tell you, even if you are redeeming Biz Class, in terms of returns, the Maybank Islamic Ikhwan AMEX Platinum which earns you 8% cash back can even earn you more compared to using your air miles to redeem Biz Class.

In respect to the above, if you spend less than RM3K per month with credit cards, forget about Air Miles, you be better off playing Cash Back Credit Cards!!! I have many articles on the Best Cash Back Credit Cards, just Google GenX GenY GenZ Cash Back Credit Cards to read them.

Almost 90% of My Air Miles Disciples have flown First Class with Emirates and Suite Class with Singapore Airlines and a few First Class with Japan Airlines. As such most of us today only fly Biz Class as we have experienced First Class. And those who followed my instructions to perform an action asap as Time Is Of The Essence, today I can’t redeem an Emirates First Class because my status with Emirates Skywards is the lowest tier- blue, hahaha.

Having said the above,today it is harder to earn FREE Emirates Skywards from thin air compared to few years ago, but that does not mean we cannot experience Emirates Business Class. in respect to the above, once again I used the same method above to experience Biz Class with Turkish Airways Cancun Mexico to Istanbul when I originally only had an Economy Class ticket.
