The Best Top Credit Cards in Malaysia 2025

CONCLUSION

Now that you know what credit cards to get based on your needs, I want to tell you that Samsung Pay and Apple Pay are very good especially with NFC features where you can just tap here and there and your card details are secured (i.e. better than tapping with the physical card).

In this review, if you noted, I taught you all how to optimize from the very start with the Maybank 2 Gold/Platinum Cards AMEX even if you are eligible for Maybank 2 Cards Premier because you actually earn more Air Miles with the Entry Level Maybank credit card.

Then I showed you again that the Entry Level CIMB eCredit Card can be either good as a Cash Back or Air Miles credit card.

The purpose of this review is to educate you and show you how to think outside the box in order to optimize. My Air Miles Disciples and I play both cash back and air miles credit cards to optimize (for example I told you for Petrol just use the Maybank 2 Gold/Platinum Cards AMEX and earn yourself guaranteed 5% cash back).

If you are holding a Maybank Credit Card that earns you Treats Points, you have to plan in advance and convert your Treats Points to Air Miles on the 1st of the month. This is where the Maybank KrisFlyer AMEX Platinum is way better as the KrisFlyer Miles are automatically credited into your KF Account and you do not need to waste your energy and stress yourself out on 1st of the month.

Once again, always determine how much you need to spend to earn 1 air mile and don’t be a fool like many people who claims that their credit card is the best just because it earns them 10X or 20X reward points.

Another thing you will note from the KrisFlyer Miles section is that I did not mention what credit card is good if you have high amount of Insurance Premiums. Well this is because I can’t find a credit card that earns me 1 KrisFlyer mile for very RM3.50 spent or less for Insurance Premiums paid in Ringgit Malaysia (except for CIMB eCC which is limited to RM1668 on 28th of the month)! Therefore, if you really have high Insurance Premiums (I know a few people have Insurance Premiums of more than RM50K per year), then I guess you should seriously look into Hong Leong Bank Visa Infinite. Even if you say you do not fly with Malaysia Airlines, I have taught many previously that we can use Enrich Points to redeem Hotel rooms (click here to my YouTube Channel) and I can tell you Enrich Points are better than KrisFlyer or Asia Miles for booking hotel rooms!

And like I said, credit card will entice us to spend more and for most people who are new to credit card, especially fresh graduates who are given credit (loan) will spend beyond their means but hopefully they will be wiser as they read more and more of my articles and the most important thing in life is – To Be Debt Free.
