Last week I presented to you guys My Suite Class Travel Report with Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 Melbourne to Singapore. I returned to Melbourne with Qantas. It was my first experience flying with Qantas and I must say I am pretty happy with the Lounge in Singapore. The service on the plane was excellent too, even better than Malaysia Airlines, if you ask me.
Qantas Singapore Lounge Changi Terminal 1
The Qantas Lounge is located at the Mezzanine Floor nearer to Gate C. It is huge and I was surprised that there was no separation between First Class and Business Class, i.e. they are served the same food and drinks.
Well, in terms of food and drinks, the Qantas Singapore Lounge can be classified as “normal” for an airport lounge in Singapore, i.e. comparable to Singapore Airlines Business Class and Dnata Lounge (please click here to my Airport Lounge Page to see more Lounges in Singapore Airport). Then again, maybe not, they are kind of unique as they have Remy Martin VSOP and the only lounge in Singapore that serves Pandan Kaya Lamingtons.
However, for First Class passengers, it is a let down as they don’t have freshly served food, i.e. butler service. However, I was told that next year First Class and Business Class will have separate areas.

Once again, my ever reliable Pepsi accompanied me on this journey.
The Qantas Lounge is huge. Photos below are just part of it as there are other sections but I did not take any photos as there were guests there.
Food wise, the selection was kind of limited but taste wise, not too bad.
The dessert on the other hand was to my liking and the barista coffee was damn good with the Pandan Kaya Lamingtons.

On Board The Airbus A330
The seating configuration on the Qantas A330 was 1+2+1 where all seats have aisle access. I must say the seat was really comfortable, real flat bed and it even has massage function, no joke. Even Singapore Airlines First Class seat do not have massage feature built-in.

Food and Drinks
I am not a big eater and only had the bacon, egg and brioche roll with barbecue sauce with a cup of coffee before landing.
CONCLUSION
I am very happy with Qantas and would love to fly with them again. The In Flight Manager came personally and introduced himself to me and everyone else on Business Class.
Upon boarding I was served champagne and was presented with a set of pyjamas!!
And before landing, I was given an Express Pass. I tell you this Express Pass is freaking good. For immigration, the Express Card may or may not be a big plus. HOWEVER, for clearing customs it is a different story altogether. If you have ever flown into Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, sometimes the Q to clear Customs can be hundred of meters long. With the Express Pass, I skipped the Q was led immediately to the front of the Customs Officer.
And to proof to you that I am not bull-shitting you that the Qantas Business Class seat had massage feature, here is the seat buttons:
FYI, my wife who flew back to KL with Malaysia Airlines on Business Class back in July, she told me that the seat on the Malaysia Airlines Airbus A330 also has massaging feature 🙂
